Dar Zman Guest House

Nice small guesthouse at edge of medina, nice staff, decent breakfast, nice views from roof.

We stayed 3 nights on August 30. The hotel is well located, close to the medina and also about 5 minutes away from the bus station. The hotel itself is ok, definitely nothing luxury and the bed is a little uncomfortable for two people, but the service I received makes up for it. The "receptionist" on the mornings (he serves breakfast as well) barely spoke English but was extremely nice. Second day of my stay I got food poisoning, and the guy ran as soon as I told him my tummy hurts and made me a tea (no idea what it was)that helped get better and was very attentive with me and my husband. If I ever come back to chefchaouen, I am definitely staying there again.

This is the worst experience I've ever had, we have been eaten by bed bugs ! The bathroom was stinking and there was only one toilet paper roll. The breakfast was so depressing and it wasn't good at all, plus the rooms were so small we just didn't know where to put our luggage. The AC wasn't working properly and it rejected water while my daughter was sitting under it. This was the worst ! Sleepless nights, it was way too noisy, I could go for an hour listing all the bad in that guest house.

The "Blue City" of Chefchaouen is tranquil and beautiful! This hotel is a perfect location. Walking distance from everything: the marketplace (Suq), excellent restaurants, beautiful hikes. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. The view from the rooftop is exquisite! We spent four days in this lovely hotel and city. Should have been a week. Hope to return with family.

Nice dar, very close to the city center (just a few flights of stairs up). Very easy to find, and the hotel was very accommodating for early departure, even making breakfast for us early.

People who are trying to help you get to the Riad are also those who want to profit by theit servive. Negotiating before services is a valuable tool. As for the riad itself, the hostess was very helpful. Riad well located not far from medina. The only problem not credit card acceptable, only cash.

Worst hotel I've stayed at! I'm not a picky person, been staying in hostels for all of my trip, I thought i would go a little fancy and book into a hotel! The shower didn't work properly, also leeked into the room. The place has bed bugs... When I told the guy as I was leaving that I had been bitten by bed bugs he said, sorry I don't understand my English isn't very good, ten minuites earlier when I was paying his English was fine...

The Dar Zman guesthouse is nothing special but is a perfectly pleasant stay for a night or too, and was the beat value for money of any of the hotels we had in Morocco. The two members of staff where very friendly and they served an excellent Moroccan breakfast every morning. Their English was not great but they dis make a real effort to help us when needed. Our room was not particularly big and had some odd bits such as a single long pillow to share between the two of us. However, the bed was comfortable enough, the air con worked and the bathroom, while small, was perfectly nice. Chefchaouen is definitely worth a day or two visit. Very tranquil and relaxed and the hotel is located perfectly for quick access to the median.
