JOIA Bávaro by Iberostar - Adults Only - All Inclusive

Overall, Joia is a 5 star property with only one weakness, the golf course management. We stayed for 10 nights and I'd rave about the hotel. the rooms, the entertainment, the staff, the restaurants and the ambience. The hotel itself was everything I hoped it would be. But, we went there to play golf. I reserved five 18 hole rounds well ahead of our stay. On the first day, we got to the course and realized we had a problem. There were maybe 10-15 golf carts waiting with players in them. The practice area had another 10 players, and there were no practice balls for anyone. To summarize our experience that day, we waited on every single shot on every hole for 3 hours before we quit after playing 9 excruciating holes. The course itself was okay. It was in good condition and the greens, although slow, were fine. It's the management that needs either replacement or new leadership. They schedule each foursome 7 minutes apart. Most good courses schedule players 10 minutes apart. So, with this crowding of scheduling, rounds take 5.5 to 6 hours to play. I don't know about you, but I play lots of courses and 4 to 4.5 hours in usually about the right time to plan to play. We ended up rescheduling our play to mid-afternoon 9 hole rounds in order to avoid the morning disaster that played out every day. Even so, we occasionally got stopped by the 5 o 6th hole by the morning crowd still finishing their front 9 after 3 hours. So, we loved the hotel, but would warn anyone who plans to have a serious golf commitment during their stay, that they might be disappointed by the horrible golf course management and their scheduling of tee times every 7 minutes.

Just wanted to give a shout out to our concierge Peter. He helped answer any questions we had. Whether it was getting something we needed for our room or booking reservations. Peter was always there with a smile and happy to help.

We had a great vacation. The crowd is older but it's appreciated because it's much more relaxed and quiet to get away from the hustle of life at home. We had a few days as a couple and then we had friends join a few days later. The food was all excellent. We had a night that we went to dinner later and waited a long time for a table and the quality of service declined. Overall staff was all very welcoming and friendly. We had Peter as our concierge and he made sure to touch base with us daily to make sure we had whatever we needed. The bed is comfy, massages are great, the room itself is a bit smaller than other resorts we've been to. Water pressure in the shower is excellent! There's complimentary sunscreen at the towel hut, which is wonderful. Definitely wouldn't think twice about coming back.

Beautiful experience we stayed from February 5th to February 12th 1 week was not long enough. We loved the French, Bella Vista, Steak house, the bar at the pool. The lobby bar, the staff at the bar were fantastic. Reynaldo our butler he was fantastic looked after any details answered any questions we needed to ask. Manoucheka shes my concierge she is lovely and fun. She is very happy and pretty and smiles beautifully. She helps alot looking forward to seeing her next year.

Our staff was so wonderful.There is always multiple staff available to assist us for whatever we may need.Often at a meal we can have up to five staff waiting on us for various items. Cleanliness in resort and our rooms is exceptional.

Joia Bávaro was described as a luxury destination, with an incredible beach, excellent dining and superb service. Iberostar Joia Bávaro did not disappoint. Dining options are varied and each à la carte served delicious plates, and superb service. No reservations are required except for the Japanese restaurant. It was the service level that put this location at the top for us. In particular, our concierge Frankelly amazed us when I asked for help with en emergency part replacement for my cpap machine. He had it delivered to my hand in just a few hours. We’ve met several guests who’ve returned more than a few times. We can see why!

The resort is amazing overall.. superb quality, great dining, fun shows, what more can you ask for? This was my 4th visit, so I am not going into too much detail. Location is great, beach is fantastic Very clean Noise levels in the rooms is very low as there is a 2 door system when you enter your hallway with closet etc, and then another door when you enter the bedroom. Service was superb ! Its nice to be recognized when you return. My butlers Valentin and Manuel were fantastic !! they helped with any issues and even called a taxi for me that was ready when I left. If you want a relaxing trip that is still fun and lots of things to do, this is a great place. it is not a party resort but if you want to party there is a disco which is very fun over at the Punta Cana Iberostar resort, there is also a casino. Looking forward to my next visit !!

Third trip to this beautiful resort. The grounds and decor are so lovely and inviting. Food at each restaurants was enjoyed but the real winner here are the staff. Jose and Jesus butlers were on their A game, very responsive to texts using the helpful Iberostar app. Ortiz server buffet and Jessica hostess were standouts. The entertainment staff were visible and kept things lively. Thank you all for a wonderful vacation.

What a great hotel. Everyone went out of their way to help us in every aspect. The food was amazing and I will deff be returning. Enrique in guest relations was excellent. So were many of the other staff. Ana / Carlos also made us feel at ease.

The hotel is beautiful and the food has been enjoyable. My concierge, Josue has been very helpful. Be sure to have the welcome drink!
