Candlewood Suites Fort Stockton by IHG

There aren't many hotel choices in the Fort Stockton area, and even fewer choices that are pet friendly. We are normally Marriott loyalists, but the Fairfield Inn does not allow pets so we chose the Candlewood Suites by default. We have never stayed in the Candlewood Suite brand before, so we weren't sure what to expect. Wow! We were pleasantly surprised. Love love loved out experience The hotel appears in great shape and updated. The staff were friendly and professional. Room was clean, fresh smelling with a comfortable mattress. Frankly, the comfort of the room is comparable to the experience at high end hotels. Hotel is located right off I-10 and has complementary parking right at the front door. The hotel advertises "no breakfast" but they offer complementary tea, coffee and oatmeal (sounds like a breakfast to me), but if that doesn't appeal to you, they have food items for sale in the cupboard that are VERY reasonably priced. If that still doesn't appeal to you there is a McDonalds within walking distance. If you are looking for fine dining, you're in Fort Stockton (good luck with that) Best part of the hotel? Complementary laundry facilities with working and up to date machines. I always travel with a roll of quarters and I have never seen a hotel offer complementary laundry facilities. Pet fee is a very reasonable $35 for the stay. There is a grassy area behind the hotel for pet relief. Could be bigger, but beggars can't be choosers. We stayed here to visit Big Bend National Park. There are closer hotels, but we are glad we chose this location. In summary.... love love love this hotel. Highly recommend if you are in the area. Kudos to management.

Great stay

I always love staying at Candlewood Suites when I travel because they have everything I need. We usually plan at least once a week on a road trip to stay at one of these because they have free washers and dryers and they are always in tip top shape and clean. So we can get caught up. We did and the shower was great too. Lots of pressure. Staff were welcoming. If we pass this way again on our journeys, we will be sure to stay here.

I dislike being greeted with a TV running news. Any news, though especially main stream media blaring their opinions. We would much prefer to enjoy our stay away from home not getting the constant connection to bad news.

Bedding was nice and crisp and fresh!

Dishwasher did not work leaked all over the floor so called and told them guy came and said he fixed it but nope it wasn’t fixed water went everywhere again. Told them and nothing happened. Was charged and extra $100 for what I do not know was not given my receipt. Room also wasn’t the room I asked for. My card got ran twice with no explanation.

This was a very clean hotel and had everything we needed in the room. The only downfall was that some staff and many guests were not wearing masks. We chose this hotel because we were told masks were required at IHG properties. Other than that we absolutely loved this hotel and would stay again.

The location was convenient and dog friendly. I also made use of the free in house laundry room.

They have many dvds to loan at the front desk which was nice for the kids on the drive down to big bend.
