Maison Perumal Pondicherry - A CGH Earth Experience

Maison Perumal in Pondicherry is a beautiful heritage hotel—it truly feels like stepping back in time. Worth every penny, with a calm, retreat-like atmosphere that’s both relaxing and transporting. The welcome was incredibly warm—I genuinely felt like a valued guest from the moment I arrived. The flower garland was a lovely touch, and I really appreciated them sitting down with a map to walk me through the area. Everything was explained perfectly, from breakfast timings to housekeeping, along with the complimentary activities offered during the stay. I was also told about all the experiences run by the hotel that I could take part in, which was a great touch. I was then personally shown to my room, given a full tour, and it was so thoughtful to find a handwritten note and some goodies waiting for me. Overall, the level of care, attention to detail, and hospitality really stood out—an experience that felt both personal and memorable.

If I had to note one small dislike it is that the hotel wasn’t fully occupied during my stay, so at times it felt very quiet. While the staff were attentive, it occasionally felt like there were a lot of eyes on you, which could feel a little overwhelming. That said, it clearly came from a place of genuine care and attentiveness.

expected like CGH coconut lagoon.. can have some kids activities. breakfast was definitely not a spread.
