Maison Perumal Pondicherry - A CGH Earth Experience

Le style colonial, la qualité du restaurant, la gentillesse du personnel. Le fait qu’on ne soit pas toujours obligé de mettre la clim à cause du ventilateur plafond que je trouve mieux, mais qui est absent de la plupart des hôtels contemporains.

Petit hôtel 10 chambres dans un vieux palais tamoul rénové . Les chambres sont spacieuses et la salle de bain très agréable . Grand confort, le personnel est charmant. Dîner et petit déjeuner très bons . Très calme même si c’est dans la partie tamoule . On peut profiter de la piscine du Palais de Mahé . Faites le tour en vélo rickshaw c’est vraiment sympa .

We spent six nights at Maison Perumal, booking three rooms for our group of six, and it truly was a wonderful experience. The heritage house exudes character, with its charming courtyards, quaint wooden architecture, and beautiful verandas overlooking peaceful spaces. Each room was immaculately kept, blending modern amenities with a warm, historic ambiance that radiated positive vibes. The emphasis on sustainability throughout the property was impressive and added to our enjoyment. What made our stay truly special was the outstanding hospitality of the staff. Manager Elby and Anamika were always available, greeting us with a smile and ensuring every detail was taken care of. Samy and another team member managed the breakfast, dinner, and bar area seamlessly, making sure we were always comfortable. The food, prepared by Chef Babu, was exceptional—fresh, flavorful, and health-focused, featuring cold-pressed juices and millet-based South Indian breakfasts and lunches. We also want to recognize the lady staff member who maintained the floors and rooms, keeping everything spotless. The team went above and beyond by decorating our room for my wife’s birthday and surprising us with a delicious cake—a thoughtful gesture that made our stay even more memorable. We would gladly return to Maison Perumal on our next visit to Pondicherry and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a unique and welcoming experience.

The overall experience was so nice that there was nothing to reflect upon of what we did not like

Restaurant

The staff was very polite and accommodating. The food was excellent and they even made customized dishes when we asked. There were multiple sitting areas where my cousin and I could just hang out and chat and laugh. It brought back so many childhood memories!

The Air Conditioning was not enough for the size of the room. The weather being extremely hot did not help either but I think a bigger AC for the larger rooms would make it a lot more comfortable or place the AC in a spot that would reach the bed. My cousin got the room with the four poster bed but the TV was not visible from the bed - just some small adjustment with the TV placement would be good so we can lie down in bed at the end of the day and watch a movie or something.
