Iberostar Waves Cozumel - All Inclusive

Our trip was really fantastic! The entertainment team did a great job at making us feel welcome. Especially Humberto! Fun and energetic! The BBQ restaurant was also one of our favorites. I recommend this resort to all.

Everything! The buffet was excellent. The housing so nice! The beach fantastic! so many fish’s! And many other in the property! And employees are simply the best!! Kind, available, always gentle and genuine. And the Japanese restaurant is superb.

Maybe because the property is really immense, I would enjoyed the possibility to have a little golf car that turned around and drop off and pick up people to go to breakfast in the morning. For 10 days, we had breakfast in front of our room very close to the pool but in the last two days the breakfast location move to the lobby area and it was a little bit annoying in the morning go until there for a coffee.

We booked directly through Iberostar and spent approximately $6,000 on what we hoped would be a memorable family vacation. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. My family travels to Mexico at least three times a year, and we have stayed at many all-inclusive resorts. We have never had an experience like this. When we arrived, our room smelled strongly of sewage. We reported it immediately, and maintenance came to the room, but the odor never improved. When we called a second time, we felt our concerns were dismissed with little urgency. It wasn’t until I mentioned how much we had paid for our vacation that we were finally offered a different room. Another frustrating issue was Iberostar’s room occupancy policy. Because our son had turned 13 just one week before our trip, we were required to book three separate rooms since he was considered an “adult” for pricing purposes. However, when we arrived, we had to sign a waiver because he was still considered a minor staying in his own room. It felt very contradictory to charge him as an adult while treating him as a minor for liability. The buffet was also under construction during our stay, which affected the overall experience. While we understand renovations are sometimes necessary, this should have been communicated clearly before booking. Perhaps the biggest disappointment was the customer service. Many staff members came across as unfriendly and made us feel like we were inconveniencing them whenever we asked a question or requested assistance. Hospitality should make guests feel welcome, but that was not our experience. For the amount we paid, we expected clean accommodations, responsive customer service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Instead, we dealt with an unresolved sewage smell, inconsistent policies, ongoing construction, and staff who often made us feel unwelcome. We love traveling to Mexico and will absolutely return, but we will not return to this resort. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend it.

our guest service guy Christian Ocampo very proffesional , helpful and gave us positive examples to spend our vacation time. how to rent a car , things to see and visit. suggested us to use rent a car to drive to Alamo by airport. He was one of the most helpful people at Iberostar, making us want to return and talk to him again

The true value of this resort lies entirely in its excellent food and beverages, the dining experiences, and the outstanding quality of attention. While the rooms and other facilities felt run down and very average overall, the incredible teams in the restaurants, bars, and kids' club completely elevated our stay. At El Cedral, the captain Cesar and our waiters, Carlos and Teresita, were exceptional. In the evenings at the Mexican restaurant and Pagoda, Hector and Gaspar were outstanding. Even while understaffed, they efficiently managed a large crowd with absolute professionalism and a genuine willingness to please. Also, a huge shout out to Rosa and Sol at Star Camp! They organized fantastic, fun activities that our kid thoroughly enjoyed. If you appreciate top-tier dining and wonderful service, these specific culinary and childcare teams make this property worth the visit.

Property was very well maintained, clean, helpful and friendly staff; grounds and landscaping were beautiful.

The beach was rocky and not swimable unless you entered from the property’s dock.

The only reason I keep going back the Iberostar Waves in Cozumel because they have a fantastic dive center with great reefs nearby. Hotel rooms are very basic. Food is just okay. Evening entertainment is terrible. I have stayed at many other Iberostar's and this is the worst. All other locations are so much better. However, great service from staff who are all very friendly. I would not recommend this hotel to people who do not scuba dive.

Great atmosphere. Cool animals roaming around. Authentic food. Pool area is jumping during the day. Big pool for the kiddos also. Laid back music playing during the day. Nothing too crazy or loud. Poolside charcoal grill everyday serving hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches and fries with all the fixings. Salads, salsa and nacho bar also. The grill alternates between homemade tacos and grilled meats in addition every other day. The restaurants are good. Nothing elaborate. Remember it's all inclusive. Service was exceptional in all areas. Beach access is beautiful. Pools are beautiful. Snorkeling experience at the resort was horrible due to weather. We were able to book an excursion with the on site dive shop. Great people! My only con is you will get pressured into an on site meeting about travel offers upon arrival. Shut it down immediately of you are not interested and they will not bother you the rest of your stay. They are slick so don't say I didn't warn you. 😳 All in all we will be back again! If you're looking to relax at a not too crowded (ALL INCLUSIVE) resort and enjoy some good food and good times at your own pace, this is your place! All in all
