New Olympic Motel

Well, I was quite disappointed, the room smelled like mould the moment I walked it. And there were two visits from the police to the property in the 2 days that I stayed there. First for an abusive/domestic issue and second because another occupant robbed the room 2 doors from mine. I didn’t feel safe there. Very disappointing stay.

No one was there for check in and a phone call went to message bank so a bit frustrating. We also weren’t warned that the road would be closed on Sunday making it difficult to get out. Clean and tidy, but there was a lack of staff on site when needed.

Located on the edge of Lismore CBD with easy street access, my check-in was quickly done. Car parking is a mix of undercover and open car parking. My room was clean and a good size, whilst having a microwave and a good sized small fridge. The small ensuite bathroom was clean though the smell of bleach was strong and running the shower considerably reduced the smell. I slept well, as the bed was firm but comfortable. Late at night during my 2 night stay, a couple of guests were heard yelling, but this occurred at 2 different rooms. Early in the morning after my 1st nights stay, police arrived with lights and sirens to park across the driveway, blocking street access, then spoking with a guest which is not something, the motel has any control over. A number of the rooms are upstairs and stairs are the only access, with the front stair not having a light operating. I also found that a previous guest had put a sock over a wall light as I'm guessing it was too bright. Overall for the price the room was reasonable value. I think the room rates as a 3.7 out of 5, so gave it 4,

Within close flat walking distance to the Lismore CBD, cafes and clubs. My room was a reasonable size with a comfortable bed, good sized fridge, microwave, TV & wifi connections. The shower / ensuite was a good size and had received a good bleach treatment prior to my use, which I assume is to meet COVID requirements. The strong smell was removed upon using the shower. Overall good value for money, though there were some occasional late night noise issues, last for only a few minutes on both nights of my 2 night stay, but occurred from different room guests.

The room was NOT as pictured on Motel site, we were deceived. We had no lamps, no phone, stained towels, fresh stains on Queen doona cover, toothpaste in bathroom sink, old toilet seal on floor under toilet. We found an old wooden picture and an empty flute case under single bed, they had been there for quite some time too. The room was disgusting. I'll never book with these people again! Seriously do yourselves a favour, stay elsewhere!

The property is quite old and run down. Masks were mandatory indoors and the person at the front counter didn’t have his mask over his nose.

I liked how the acting manager fixed up my mistake that i made on line with the wrong dates. She was very helpfull and kind. But i didnt like how i was going to be charged extra because of the mistake. Had a month to cancel it and you did say no charge if i cancelled befire a certain date. Also the room was ok bed was nice and cmfy but bathroom was very small.

Very, very soft matress! I sunk right down into it. Didn't have shampoo or conditioner, but had body wash & liquid hand soap. Was clean and comfortable, good location close to everything I needed, yet was nice & quiet.
