New Olympic Motel

Very noisy rooms and with sounds from adjourning rooms coming through. Very annoying external lights.

This seems like a nice place to stay but my recent experience left a terrible taste in my mouth. I had booked via hotels.com and had to cancel at the last minute due to a change in plans. I cancelled after double and triple checking the policies under which I had booked and confirmed that I was within the cancelation window. Checking my bank balance the next morning, I discovered I had been charged the full amount of my three day stay by the motel directly. I called hoping to correct a simple misunderstanding but was told this was their standard business practice. After a quick call to hotels.com customer service, it was relayed to me that they claimed they had never charged me, despite seeing a screenshot of my bank statement. Hotels.com had the issue rectified in a jiffy but this motel sent me a nasty email confirming they had sent a refund despite my bring in violation of their cancellation policy while copy/pasting the exact same terms I had agreed to and was in compliance with. Give them your business if you must but don’t trust them.

Located in Lismore’s main street opposite the Memorial Baths and easy walking distance to the shops, restaurants, rsl club, pubs and parks. The rooms are set back from the road so that helps keep street noise to a minimum. Spacious clean room, comfortable bed, and nicely presented room. Made feel welcome on arrival and very helpful when needed. Reasonably price with good value for money.

We travelled as a group. They have very good options for family rooms. Nice room with good size, clean bathrooms. Equipped with all necessary amenities. Enjoyed barbecue area. helpful staff. Central location surrounded with all tourist spots and Memorial bath was just next to it. Perfect place to stay with family.

Place looks very old and tired from the outside. No one was at reception for check in when I arrived and I had to call the number on the door to be signed in and allocated a room. Driveway access and carpark are incredibly old style and poky - just getting your car into the carpark was a challenge in itself - far too small. Room was exactly what I expected of an older style motel, but it was clean and the bathroom recently renovated. Way too expensive for what you get when you consider you can stay at a 5 star resort on the Gold Coast for less. TV switched on but then refused to change channels or adjust volume. Doubt I'll ever stay again as I think tere must be nice options in Lismore - this was a last minute choice and I was out of options.

Excellent room, helpful staff, good restaurant next door (Fireflys).

Too many pot plants in narrow entry making access awkward due to brick column in centre.

Manager was kind and left us alone for most of the time but heading out at night for milk made him suss which made us a little uncomfortable when he approached us, completely understandable why and it’s nice to see him care about the safety of the motel. open space to park in but getting into the car park is a little how you going, rooms and facilities are clean, and very comfortable
