Amritara The Poovath Beachfront Heritage, Fort Kochi

Lovely property. All food was very good and well presented. Lovely staff. Loved the upstairs veranda with view past the promenade to the river.

Property location is good , staff could be more proactive in providing cleaning and a better room with a view for multiple night stays

I liked the location and property. The food provided was good too. However, the staff did not clean our room 2nd day and did not provide an option for ocean facing room.

It was a fantastic experience. Everything went well, from the contact previous to my arrival to the professionalism and grace of everyone highlighting the hotel's driver, Manuel and the breakfast and dinner staff who were amazing. I recommend to anyone who wants to be close to the traditional centre of Fort Kochi and Mattancherry, but also with easy access to other areas of Kochi.

It miraculously started working at 7 am making us believe that it was switched off just like the kitchen which closes at 9 pm. It was informed earlier but kitchen dinner time needs to be extended beyond 9 pm.

Excellent Stay. Jiya was so hospitable for check-in and room and food was amazing. Located just in front of Fort Kochi Beach, in a posh and chilled out vibe locality. Thank you so much for the hospitality. We will spend a longer stay next time. Thank you

I recently stayed at this charming small hotel in Old Kochi, and it was truly a wonderful experience. With only six rooms, the atmosphere feels warm and personal, more like a beautiful home than a hotel. What really stood out was the staff—both at the front office and the restaurant. They were genuinely kind, helpful, and made me feel truly welcome throughout my stay. Dinner in the colonial patio was absolutely fantastic—delicious food in a beautifully serene setting. The hotel has preserved the character of the original private villa, which adds a lot of charm. The only slight downside was that my room was a bit noisy at times, due to the original main staircase that isn’t soundproofed—but honestly, that’s a small trade-off for staying in such a unique and historic place. Highly recommended for those who appreciate heritage, great hospitality, and a peaceful location in the heart of Old Kochi.

Quaint homestay kind of property. Old Dutch bungalow. Warm staff, Clean rooms, Good location. Will come again.
