Hotel Le Faisan Dore

A little gem in a superb location, very close to the A88. My family and I stopped here overnight on the way from Cherbourg down south. From the moment we stepped inside we were made feel very welcome. A very relaxed and hospitable environment. The rooms were immaculate with incredibly comfortable beds. The food was the highlight - absolutely superb. Catherine is a wonderful chef and we were thoroughly spoiled! There is also a kids menu which my children really enjoyed. Would highly recommend.

The hotel has benefited from a recent refurbishment. A nice but small room. Good shower. Lovely evening meal. Good breakfast.

We were asked to select preferences for breakfast the evening before. We would prefer the breakfast selection at breakfast time.

The property is totally unfriendly for people with desabilities .There is no lift to go up to the floors where the rooms are located and the stairs are very steep There were electrical sockets with life wires out of the wall.The water taps were loose and the shower was inside a old bath with no mat or the like to stop slipping when wet .Difficult to get in and out for anyone with moving problems.

Lived thus place very warm and welcoming and the food it superb

Despite there being a large refurbishment project being done on the outside of the hotel don’t be put off, once through to door the warm welcome of the couple who own the hotel and the extensive update of the decor inside you know this will be a special place Our cosy but well decorated and super clean, the shower room well appointed The dining room was modern and comfortable, The food was delicious and a good selection with a good choice of wine.Marshmallows were a special treat. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice What really makes the place so special are the charming owners and the friendly staff who are all very professional

Not much, except that the bed was comfortable.

A bit Faulty Towers ish. 1. The two way light switches were wrongly wired. If switched on by the door the light could not be switched off by the switch next to the bed and vice versa. I wasn’t initially believed when I reported this. I was asked whether I had properly used the two way switch !!! 2. The top runner of the wardrobe door came out from the top rail when I opened it because the bottom hinge wasn’t secured. When I reported it I was told not to expect it being seen to as it was Saturday afternoon 😂! 3. Although the room and bathroom were “refurbished” only the taps were new but the sink drain plug rim was old and stained. 4. The shower tray was old and badly stained and the drain plug (which was missing its cover) was badly blocked. It was ankle deep in water by the time I finished showering. When I reported the lady I spoke to replied that it wasn’t blocked and was just very slow to drain because of the shallow angle of the drain pipe !!! The room was on the second floor !!! 😂😂😂 5. The soft boiled egg I had ordered the night before for 09.15 was already at our table when we sat down at 09.05 and was stone cold !!! 6. Having been offered a pot of natural yogurt a strawberry flavoured one was presented. When I asked for it to be swapped for a natural one I was told that they did not have any !!! A really comical Faulty Towers set up 😂😂😂. Saw the funny side of their responses !!!!

L'hôtel est en travaux mais hôtes très accueillant. Voulant télétravailler le lendemain, et compliqué de se concentrer avec le bruit des travaux par moment en journée, Monsieur m'a gentiment proposé une autre chambre pour être tranquille. J'ai beaucoup apprécié le geste. Je pense que d'ici les beaux jours avec les travaux fini ça va être formidable comme lieu 🙂
