Fortuna Downtown Boutique

Had a wonderful two night stay here last week. The staff was above and beyond, so courteous and kind, helpful and informative. This place is so cute and the breakfast was really good!! We had a room facing the church out in front and for it being right in the heart of downtown La Fortuna we didn’t find it too noisy. It was a perfect location for us next to so many restaurants and shops, pharmacy, etc. Also, when the sun is out from our balcony we had a great view of Arenal Volcano. The hot and cold knobs in our room were labeled wrong but not a big deal. Ac was great and beds were comfy. Definitely would stay again!

The WiFi worked intermittently in my section of the hotel.

Staff is excellent in helping any requests. I buy noisy if room is in front street side but quiets down later evening

People at the front desk were really nice and helpful and they had a delicious breakfast every morning. The room was okay, felt a bit dirty as there was mold all over the bathroom ceiling and mildew on the lamp shade. The bed was comfortable to sleep but would only recommend to book if you just want a central hotel to sleep and not lounge.

Will not recommend this hotel unless you are on a tight budget or all other nicer places are booked already. The hotel is crammed including the reception which cannot accommodate even 5-6 adults. The reception area as well as one of our rooms smelled of sewer. It wouldnt go away. Was nauseating. The bathrooms are tiny and water would collect in the shower everytime you took a shower. Unhygeinic!! I had to ask them to clean the shower area as housekeeping wouldnt clean the shower area everytime they came to set up the bed etc. i would not book this place again even if there were no options.

Staff were fantastic, from the front desk, to cleaning, to the restaurant. The rooms were adequate. Not a lot of options in terms of sitting in the room. We pulled the patio chairs in doors for seating. Location was central. Breakfasts were good.

They’ve done a really great job renovating the hotel. Our rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable and the morning breakfast delicious. Happy hour cocktails were a treat after our expeditions. Look for the sloths down the street in the greenbelt.

The hotel was okay overall. Food was amazing in the morning. Parking was very inconvenient as you have to take a remote to open a gate then walk back over to the hotel to turn it back in. We had to pay extra as the descriptions for the rooms were incorrect.

I liked the location of this hotel and how it was right in the downtown area with restaurants, shopping, and a view of the volcano/
