Room was tired, threadbare carpets, heating not working, cobwebs and dirty

First impressions were fabulous. The drive in was like approaching Mandaley (Rebecca). Beautiful property from the outside and got us super pumped up for our rooms. The staff were super friendly and attentive and the communial area's were in keeping with the standard of the hotel. Awesome artwork and decor. Lots to see walking along the corridors although alittle dark light wise. Was kind of flabbergasted when we had to squeeze into a small lift (squished with luggage) in order to go down and than walk along long corridors which were hated by our suitcase wheels. The rooms themselves were a big big let down. They are without doubt in need to renovation. Children found dirty marks on the duvet covers and bedsheets and the bathroom !!! The seat to the toilet was off its hinges. This was rectified promptly when I bought it to the staff (front desks attention) but still felt that the room should have been in keeping with the class of the property and the cost right from the begining. Also The shower was minging. Criminal !!

The rooms, the shower, the bathroom and the dirty sheets. The Staff were lovely and this kind of balanced things out to a degree. But definatly not worth the price we paid.

Food brilliant bed comfy. Staff are brilliant especially in the brasserie. Could not be more pleasant and efficient especially Charlie and Lewis. Golf shop very helpful

Our room had no view at all we were looking at a flat roof with air conditioning units which were noisy. The early mornings were also noisy with cleaning staff getting ready

Lovely relaxing break away for the night, for our 44th Wedding Anniversary. My husband really enjoyed the chance to play golf, and really liked being able to use the twilight fee,and playing asap after arrival.Staff in the golf club were excellent.Really accommodating and helpful.

Thought the dinner menu, was poor for choice.Portions small.All a bit fur coat and no knickers tbh.So a bit disappointing.The dinner ended up costing as much as the deal we got for our stay. Last time we visited we thought the menu could have improved. It seems not much has changed.Same with the food at the bar.Very basic choice that you could quite frankly get anywhere.So didn't exactly reflect the type of place Dunston Hall leads you to believe. As you approach this building for your stay, it's dissappointing to find that there are things like a fish finger sandwich and over cooked pizza on the bar menu. The restaurant seats seemed quite old and uncomfortable.Desperately need to replace those old worn out dull chairs.Again the induce doesn't do justice to the outside. Staff at dinner were mainly young lads,although pleasant, did get distracted and disappeared,only to come back sometime later.That said, the one serving us,did give us a complimentry glass of Prosecco. The female staff and the young ladies,could not have worked harder or been more helpful. The moment you asked them anything, it was dealt with straight away.Very focused and very efficient.Which was lovely and really heloed celebrating a special 44 year Wedding Anniversary. The you g ladies were also extremely efficient breakfast time too, when it was particularly busy.The breakfast was very good. A lot of choice, staff lovely.Very well done.

We were given a nice welcome from the staff.Very nice restaurant. Very good parking and lovely grounds.

Everything was perfect.

They could have offered a small treat for my birthday. But it's okay.
