All of it scored down slightly as the weather was so hot it did affect the comfort of the rooms. However you don’t often get temperatures over 30 Degrees C!

"A great little find!"

​An absolute gem on the common – we will definitely be back! ​What an excellent find! The Old Lodge is a lovely 6-room bed and breakfast right on the common, set in the old golf clubhouse. The views are fantastic, complete with cows roaming around and an on-site golf course. ​The staff here are great—welcoming, friendly, super helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in Room 2 (a double room), which was perfect. It featured a lovely, comfy bed, great lighting, and complimentary tea and coffee. The bathroom was clean and tidy with a nice hot shower and great views across the common and golf course. ​We also had an evening meal here, and the food was absolutely amazing—the steak was cooked to perfection. Breakfast offered a great choice of dishes alongside tea, coffee, and fruit juices. We loved sitting in the beautiful beer garden, surrounded by lovely flowers and pergolas; it has a great atmosphere. ​Thank you for a lovely stay. We will definitely be back!

We have stayed here many times, it is our go to place for a relaxing stay with lovely food and always a warm welcome. The location is stunning with lots of lovely walks for us and our dog.

Location on the Common. Views. Good breakfast.

Bed rather hard. Room a bit quirky - appreciate it’s a very old building. Had to wait 30 minutes for our breakfast. No explanation or apology. Think they must have been short staffed in kitchen. However when it finally arrived it was a very good breakfast.

Stunning location, great staff and excellent food

Remote control in room was missing and sadly staff could not locate one that worked but I managed to use tv without it! :)
