I found the room very comfortable and enjoyed the fact that it had a TV with a good range of channels and two comfortable chairs to sit in. The guest fridge in the dining room to store a few things in was a nice touch. The hosts were also very helpful with advice on how to maximize what I saw during my stay.
A warm and friendly welcome awaited me at Shaftoe's B&B. I was welcomed with a pot of tea and a cupcake - doesn't get any better than that when you've just driven from Stirling to Haydon Bridge! My room was perfect and the en-suite bathroom spacious with a huge walk-in shower.
Very central location. Unique old biilding beautifully restored. Psrling in front. Loved the tasteful colour scheme.
A one night stop on a touring weekend. The welcome couldn't have been warmer and the service was excellent. A great choice of dishes for breakfast.

I really loved staying here. David and Louise are great hosts.They go out of their way to help with anything you need. For example, David gave us so many tips about the Roman sites, the local area,PLUS anytime we asked about transport, he would whip off printed schedules for us,etc etc. Their breakfasts are yummy, their beds are comfy, their location is great I will return!!
We were made to feel welcome and at home on our arrival and even given a pot of coffee. The owners are very welcoming and knowledgable about the area. Nothing is too much trouble and they go that extra mile to make sure you are comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend Shaftoe's.
