Garden Route Game Lodge

Stay in one of the private huts for a neat overnight experience. 4pm and 7am drives show you the big 5 animals on a private reserve with knowledgeable guides. Pool was great but cold so do other things while you're there. Facility has a great bar and outdoor patio to spend your free time at. Internet access is available but very slow due to the location so leave your work at home. The reserve is located about a 3.5 hour drive outside of Cape Town.

This is a truly wonderful place. The staff are so helpful and friendly, the whole setting is beautiful. The safaris are great and highly informative. I would highly recommend a beauty treatment, as you have your own private tour of the elephant section on the way to the spa! I can not recommend this reserve enough. Fantastic value for money, wonderful staff and amazing animals.

We only stayed one night and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The guide on the game drives was very professional and succeeded to make us see all the big five as well as several other animals, the highlight being the lions. His explanations were VERY interesting and instructive. Fantastic experience! The accommodation and meals were perfect. We highly recommend.

This was 2nd time we stayed here in a rondavel room. Very nice room with outside private patio and great view. Gamedrives very nice, nice gamepark. We visited park beginning of October, so evenings are a little bit cold. As we came back from nightdrive we were welcomed in a cosy room with fireplace and sherry. Restaurant, food was nice, but staff did not fill up the buffet on time, so it happens a few times that something was not available what we wanted to eat and we had to wait. We recommend stay in this place. Overall very nice.

Nice stay. The description suggested a reserve though it was more of a large zoo. Particular fenced areas contained particular animals. A great way to see lion, rhino, and cheetah.
