Westbury Gingerbread Cottages

I stayed in the corner cottage with my wife and two young kids. It was just right for us, with plenty of living space and a good kitchen. The host was very friendly, as were all the locals we met in Westbury. The breakfast food provided each day was delicious and generous. The location was really good for exploring the region.

Muffins on arrival was a nice touch, after a long day of driving to get to Westbury. Proximity to local historical attractions was very good.

Off street parking was difficult, so we parked on the street outside.

The garden was lovely, the owner was pleasant.

The bed was the worst I’ve ever slept in. It was out of the ark and was so saggy in the middle we kept rolling into each other. The bed head and bed end were leaning in towards the middle of the bed and the whole thing was on bricks!! The pillows were like sacks of potatoes. I understand the whole 1800’s experience, but a little human comfort wouldn’t go amiss. The tv was also out of the ark and only had a couple of free-to-air stations, but it blue screened after an hour so we couldn’t even watch it. There were cobwebs all over the walls and ceilings too; I’m not happy. I had about two hours sleep after the neighbour’s ear-bursting rap music ended after midnight…I can’t believe what we got for over $200 a night!

The house is very new and clean, better than the advertised photos. Lots of wardrobes. Comfy showers. Can't find anything better for this price.

Met my needs for an overnight stay. Amanda was very pleasant on the phone and helpful with checkin details.

This property has a lot of potential, but really needs a lot of TLC and a good clean. The bathroom area was clean but the carpeted areas obviously hadn't been vacuumed for some time and the bedhead had a build up of dust. The kitchen drawers & cupboards could also do with a good clean. I love the concept of staying in historical properties and supporting smaller business wherever possible, and understand the problems that come with maintaining older properties. I would consider staying here again if it has had a thorough clean.

Bed too big for the room.. 4 poster no room to get past with sharp edges… plus creaks and goans with every movement..

It was cute and quaint

The size of the 4 poster bed while cute was far too big for the room and not very comfortable. The dust on the carpet in bedroom and skirting boards behind the bed , in the bathroom and parts of the lounge room was unacceptable. Unfortunately I had expected breakfast was included as per my bnb search and was very disappointed.
