Carrington Motel

While the motel is old, it was spotless, the beds great, quiet, overlooking native bush, everything we needed. Great value for money.

Suitable location for our visit. We were in unit 11 ehich is upstairs. Carpet worn in places and a larger mat required to cover hole near door. The units are not soundproofed. At 5.15 am on the Saturday we were woken by noisy people and it coninued until four carloads departed.

The unfortunate construction / design of the building means you will struggle to get a good night sleep here unless you're a heavy sleeper. There's no sound insulation between the two levels or the plumbing system so you know exactly what the upper level occupants are up to. The toilet cistern is extremely loud, not the quiet fill type which is enough to wake anyone up if used at night. The room we had was good in many other respects. Lots of TV channels, lots of space and comfy beds. The room was nice and clean with plenty of kit to make a good stay. Location is a bit prone to loud vehicle noise because its on a hill corner which sees quite a few vehicles. That said, it's easy to get to the shops in town and super close to Pukerua park which is awesome! There's a couple of resident cats who tend to keep to themselves unfortunately. I think the best place to stay here would be on level one, back corner of the building away from the street frontage.

A really great motel to stay. Friendly reception upon arrival and the room exceeded my expectation. It was great for the price. I will definitely consider staying at this motel when I am in New Plymouth again. Highly recommended!

Really run down, old carpets, uncomfortable beds, botch up holes in the walls, holes and stains on bedding, rooms smelt really musty. Terrible expierence.

Wonderful stay. Really friendly and understanding staff when we had a booking issue. Unit is spacious and clean and the beds are very comfortable! Within walking distance to the shops and Pukekura Park. Highly recommended, will stay here again.

The location is perfect, BBQ zone and the parkin re really comfortable
