"Fantastic hotel, amazing experience"

10.0

We have just returned from a week in this amazing hotel. We We cannot fault any part of our experience there. The people at the hotel were so friendly and helpful. The accommodation we were provided (Aloon Aloon Villa) was five star. The location of the hotel itself was amazing, on a white sandy beach with the Gili islands in the distance on one side and the volcano in the distance on the other side. Will always be a magical memory for us.

"Piece of paradise"

10.0

The hotel transports you into another era. Each piece of architecture is beautiful and woven into the hotel experience. The staff is extremely courteous, though the service is slightly slow, but the quality makes up for it. The Spa, the beach and the restaurant are absolutely brilliant. The Bhagwad Gita suites are worth splurging on.

"Great Lombok Getaway"

10.0

If you are looking for somewhere to relax this is a great place to stay. Restraunt food is good. Accomodation is comfortable. You need to have a clear plan of which boat and ferry you would use to get the Gilli islands - Banka ferry wharf is an aweful place to go.

"Wanted to love it - but dissappointed"

6.0

We expected a white sand swimming/snorkeling beach and a perfect 5-star hotel experience. Unfortunately, we found neither. The beach here is NOT a swimming or snorkeling beach, and you really cannot even walk on the beach at all because the sand is 100% completely covered with crushed coral. Even with the complimentary aqua shoes that the hotel provides, it is basically impossible to walk on. The hotel itself is very interesting and unique, with some amazing large scale antiques, but it feels too Disneyland-eque for our taste. The pool, spa, and main restaurant area are nice, but the rest of the hotel feels too rustic and not at all luxurious in any way. This is not a high end hotel, nor should it be in the 5-star category. The rooms are very dated and not very comfortable. The food is good but not great, and very expensive for what you're getting. The service is very unpredictable. Some of the staff are incredible friendly and really go out of their way to make your stay feel personalized and memorable. Those touches we will never forget, like the fabulous unique nighttime dining venues on the beach in a romantic candlelit day bed....and killer spa treatments. That part was perfect and unforgettable. There is a big English language issue with a majority of staff, which are mostly locals and don't have the kind of training you would expect from a 5-star hotel. We really wanted to love this place because they try hard, but the lack of a good beach and comfort took over.

"12-star hotel - we were treated like queens!"

10.0

My friend and I were on a girl's trip and we decided to book a villa at Hotel Tugu Lombok. We had read the reviews on tripadvisor, but we were blown away by how 1) beautiful the resort/hotel is, 2) how attentive and generous the staff are, and 3) how relaxing and peaceful the resort is. Without a doubt, Hotel Tugu Lombok has been the best resort I've ever been to anywhere in the world. From giving us complimentary 30 minute massages to upgrading us for free to a oceanside villa, the staff are incredibly attentive and nice. Henry (the manager) knows everyone's name and comes and is so kind. Tama, Faisol, and Robby are part of his staff and taught my friend and I how to speak Indonesian and they even made us aloe vera from scratch when we came back with sunburns after a day out in the ocean! Not only are they incredibly attentive staff, but the resort itself is absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed a sunset dinner which was delicious and gorgeous, we got a massage in the wonderful spa they have which looks over the ocean, and we also took their 'dragon boat' to go snorkeling in the Gili islands. It was the BEST vacation ever! And to top it off, the hotel staff sent my friend and I off in style - they all waved us goodbye and had American flags! It was so sweet :) Thank you guys so so much! It was the best vacation anyone could ever ask for :)

"a hidden jewel in a tropical paradise"

10.0

An absolutely fantastic hotel with wonderful facilities resplendent with a wide variety of antiques, sculptures and artefacts; a superb location right beside the beautiful white sands of Sire beach in close proximity to the Gili islands; magnificent rooms sympathetically designed to incorporate the local culture and the tropical environment; and truly superb staff who greet and treat you in such a professional and non-intrusive manner. You could not ask for anything more and the whole Hotel Tugu experience was calming and relaxing beyond belief and more than met our expectations for an isolated getaway on a tropical paradise without the crowds where one could completely chill-out; and if that's what you want, this is the place. Arriving at the hotel, you are welcomed with lemon grass tea and introduced to the property which is historical; the grounds are manicured to the highest standards and are complete with numerous pools and fountains; the hotel swimming pool is splendid and there is an excellent Spa. The Hotel also provides complementary afternoon tea and local delicacies at 4pm which is a very nice touch to supplement the delightful breakfasts and wonderful evening dinners. My wife and I stayed at Hotel Tugu for four nights but, with hindsight, we should have stayed for longer and we were very reluctant to leave. It is the relaxing sun-kissed days. wonderful sunsets, beach dinners and the exceptional hotel service that will live in our memories for a long time!

"Lovely hotel, dreadful food"

6.0

This hotel is lovely, beautiful surrounds, friendly and helpful staff and we had an extremely relaxing and peaceful stay. The location is isolated, with no option of eating anywhere but the hotel. The food was dreadful, two meals were actually inedible and the rest of the food we ate was not good. The prices are what you would expect at hotel like this (expensive) but the standard of the food was well worse then you'd get at a roadside warung. There is no excuse for this. And to think they have the nerve to offer cooking classes! I wanted to go into the kitchen and cook my own food. They are going to have to do something about the food they offer their guests.

"Great experience"

10.0

This resort is one of the most beautiful places, I have ever stayed. It is so beautifully designed. The public spaces are so unique and are filled with an abundance of beautiful antiques. The service was extraordinary. Every need was quickly attended to. The room was very beautiful with an unusual bathroom, an indoor and outdoor room. Fresh fruit was left everyday in our room, and we all our dinners were lighted by candles on the beach.
