"Not Accommodating for Families or Large Groups"

2.0

Our group consisted of 11 family members, including a 7-month-old baby. Unfortunately, this resort was not very accommodating for families or large groups. We booked four rooms and called several weeks in advance to request that our rooms be located near each other. Despite our efforts, we were assigned rooms in different buildings. It was also extremely difficult to reach anyone by phone before our stay, as the resort never seemed to answer calls. After checking in, it became clear why the front desk had only two employees working at a very large resort. Because the property is so spread out, guests need to rely on golf carts for transportation. This was especially challenging with a stroller and a large family group. The carts filled up quickly, making it inconvenient to get around. I was also surprised that the buildings do not have elevators. Another inconvenience was the lack of room service. There were no bars, snack stations, or quick food options located near our rooms. If you wanted something to eat or drink, you had to either walk a considerable distance or wait for a golf cart to take you to another area of the resort. Our original room had a broken air conditioner that was not cooling properly, and we had to move to another room. The specialty restaurants were another disappointment. Not all of them accept reservations, and although they open at 7:00 p.m., they were completely booked by 7:45 p.m. We were only able to get a reservation at the Smokehouse. Once there, we learned that individual entrées were not available and that the restaurant only served platters. Unfortunately, the portions were quite small and did not meet our expectations. What was most concerning was our experience with the resort's medical services. My husband suffered a dislocated shoulder while on the property and required emergency medical attention. When we went to the clinic, they would not call an ambulance until I provided all of his insurance information. Once the ambulance arrived, there was a significant delay before they transported him, and again I was asked for his insurance information. In an emergency situation, this was extremely frustrating. To make matters worse, they chose to transport him to a hospital that was approximately 40 minutes away, despite us being in urgent need of care. I will say that the resort itself is absolutely beautiful. We loved the natural surroundings, the wildlife throughout the property, and the easy access to the beach. The grounds are well maintained and offer a relaxing tropical atmosphere. Overall, our experience was disappointing and frustrating. While the property is beautiful, the room issues, transportation challenges, dining limitations, lack of convenient amenities, and the handling of a medical emergency made this stay fall far short of our expectations, especially for a family vacation.

"A great family hotel with something for all ages."

10.0

A great hotel overall. The best feature by far that marks this hotel out from the competition are the amazing, extensive gardens the accomodation is set within. A great array of wildlife here including coaties, iguanas, occasional monkeys, peacocks, parrots and even a flock of flamingoes. The hotel is spotlessly clean, rooms are a good size and the selection of food available in the buffets is great and of a good standard. Staff work hard here to cater for guests. Pools are great and the extertainment is likewise. Decor is 'colourful' and a little dated, but that didn't detract from what is a great hotel overall. Would definitely revisit & congratulate Iberostar on their commitment to providing something a little different here from the corporate mainstay and helping support the Mexican wildlife within the grounds.

"Delicious food, beautiful grounds!"

10.0

We just got back from Grand Palladium and the whole time, we kept missing and comparing it to Iberostar! We went to Iberostar in November as a family of 4 and had the best time. The food was really good, the grounds were beautiful, the entertainment was fun, the spa was nice and I’m a coffee person…the lattes were fantastic, my family loved the hibachi/japanese restaurant and the taco place in the plaza, everything was so good! We absolutely loved the wildlife, the coatis and peacocks were so cute and the vibes of the resort felt like a jungle. I liked that the resort is big and walkable, because we love walking and it feels like you’re walking through a little rainforest with all the wildlife and lush greenery/flowers. I do wish the restaurants stayed open a little later, but it wasn’t a big deal. I highly recommend this resort and we would definitely go back!

"Beautiful Resort"

10.0

We travelled here with a group of 15 over March break. Second time visiting (prior visit was 3 years ago). I have nothing but positive things to say. Beautiful grounds with manicured walking paths. Excellent selection of food, our family loved the Hibachi and Mexican restaurants. Even with the sargassum the beach was amazing. Pools were excellent with great daytime entertainment. Rooms were super clean and spacious. We were top floor so nice and quiet at night. Friendly staff everywhere you go. Quick trip from the airport. Did not disappoint a second time!! 100% recommend.

"Séjour magnifique"

10.0

Rien. Tout était parfait.

"Scammed at the spa"

2.0

Got scammed out of $500 cad at the spa. They dont honor there 24hr cancelation policy and then add the charges to your room which you dont see until checkout. We tried to dispute them but they wouldnt work with us and forced us to pay before we could leave. We almost missed our flight because of it. Ruined our whole trip

"Good"

5.0

The location is great, also the facilities. The food at the buffet is great, specially the Mexican night.

The transportation inside the resort needs to improve, we were informed that we should have "buses" every 10 min, but it not happened. Also, several times the buses not stopped when we asked for a ride. The Rodzio restaurante is terrible, it supposed to be a brazilian barbecue and its so far from it, the service slow, poor buffet, and the meat... no comments. Really bad! I did an upgrade of the room, to be closer to the beach and pool, I couldnt use the balcony because it wasnt clean properly, the animals visit it leaving behing leftovers and other things - 2nd floor - in addition that I had no view. Oh, by the way, the massage is USD 250,00.
