"No way five star. Stay away!!"

2.0

The grounds were amazing but this is the only positive about this awful hotel. Within 24hrs of being there we asked to be moved. The room my son , wife and daughter were in was so small my son had to sleep on the sofa. The pool was dirty and had tiles coming off from inside the pool. The icing on the cake was when we went to dinner our chicken was still frozen. We complained several times to managment who did nothing. So at extra expense to us we checked out early and went to a true five star hotel. Stay away at the very best this hotel is 3 star.

"Nice resort"

8.0

The resort is big with beautiful grounds and walking paths. We walked almost everywhere, it took us about 10-15 minutes from the main lobby to the beach . The app is pretty handy to book your reservations and get information and the wifi is strong throughout the resort, pool and beach area . The good : - The beautiful grounds - The water filling stations on each floor - Bathtub in the bathroom (something you don’t find very often in Mexico, but would be especially handy if you have small children ) - Amazing pool with plenty of lounge chairs - nice beach - lots of food variety at buffet restaurants The ‘could be improved ‘: - only two servers at the beach bar and the line ups get long. Maybe it’s an idea to have one more line for people who just want beer instead of complicated cocktails - hard to find good coffee before 9 am. The buffet coffee is very very strong. We walked over to the coffeeshop in the shopping area, only to find out it doesn’t open until 9 am . Thankfully the lobby bar serves cappuccinos and specialty coffees too in the morning. Also…..it would be really nice to have some kind of coffee stand/ bar near the beach from 7 am - 10 am or so . - talking about bars: it would be nice to have another small bar near the pool closer to the waterfall . There is one there, but it only caters to ‘privilege class’ guests . - the blow dryer in the room blows lukewarm air, a strange mix of warm and cold. If you need hot air, you’re better off bringing your own - we visited only 3 a la carte restaurants (Mexican, Smokehouse and Japanese) and they were okay. The Japanese was the most fun for sure, just because of the show they put on - the beach is beautiful , but the ‘towel game’ is in full force here and you have to be there before 7:30 if you want a chair. The bad : - nowhere to get food between 11 am and 1 pm. We were picked up by our shuttle bus to get us to the airport at 1 pm and we’re hoping to get a quick last bite to eat . The latest breakfast buffet closes at 11 am and we wandered over to the hamburger place in the shopping mall, only to find out it opens at 1 pm, All in all it’s a nice resort with a very loud lobby bar at night . Not sure if I’d like to come back, as AI is not really my thing, but I did enjoy my time here.

"Nice resort."

8.0

Our first time at this resort, we were here for a wedding, I have to say this resort is big and the grounds are beautiful the beach has nice sand and a lot of chairs, only problem nis you need to be at the beach by 6:30 am or else it will be tough to find a chair.which is to bad that people can be such hoggers. The pool area has tons of chairs and usually lots of space in the sun or shade. The rooms were ok they were clean but for some reason the bathroom stunk like sewage, but then we were contributing to that as well. There are a lot of ala-Carte restaurants as the buffet can be busy and noisy, the food there was not bad but after a few days it gets tiring. I only wish they had better coffee, we just kept getting it from the lobby bar.or at the shopping Center. There is a fair bit of entertainment, but pretty loud and annoying specially in the lobby bar and at the pool in the afternoons. All in all it was all good, usually we don’t do all inclusive but in this case we had to I guess hopefully it will be our last one. ,

"Can't wait to return!"

10.0

We have stayed in other Iberostar's on vacation, so reading the reviews before we travelled was disheartening. However, we were not disappointed from our previous experiences. The hotel is amazing!! This is a large complex consisting of 5 hotels. From our check in experience with Itzel, and all the staff we encountered, everyone was very pleasant, friendly and helpful. We didn't have any issue with staff pushing for time-shares. There are a la carte restaurants and the buffet is very well stocked and lots of options. There are snack places at the shopping center, as well as a cafe just across the street from the hotel which is included with your stay. There are snacks at the beach with hamburgers, hotdogs, fries, nachos and ice cream. There is quite a bit of walking on this resort. To walk from the lobby (and buffet) to the beach is about 20 minutes. There are upsized golf carts going back and forth all the time, there are "bus" stops where you can wait for them if you have difficulty walking or have small children. We booked a junior suite closer to the beach. We did not have an issue with noise. Our room was large and very clean. Our room was made up everyday. We had an issue with our USB plug in socket, which "popped" when we tried to charge our phone, we went to the lobby to let them know and it was fixed (changed) with in twenty minutes! The grounds are beautiful. There are many animals roaming freely, but you don't have to worry about them. We had a wonderful time and looking forward to returning. Thank you

"Not a five star"

2.0

Dear Iberostar Waves Paraíso Beach Management, I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction with our recent stay at your resort, which was booked for one week. Our experience consistently failed to meet the advertised five-star standard. Due to a series of persistent, unaddressed issues, we were compelled to check out after only four nights and relocate to the Moon Palace at additional cost. The primary issues that severely compromised our family vacation include: 1. Cleanliness and Room Standards - Poor Cleanliness: The room and general resort areas were unacceptably dirty. We reported finding a used earbud and hair upon arrival, and the floors remained soiled. - Hygiene Concern: The lack of lidded bins for used toilet paper presented a significant hygiene risk, especially given the policy against flushing paper. - Room Issues: The minibar was poorly stocked, and a suitable bed replacement was provided several days late. The temporary solution was unusable due to a lamp fixture, forcing one adult to sleep on the sofa for four nights (pictures attached). - Safety/Pest Issue: On the day of departure, we discovered a snake in our bathroom, which appeared to have entered through significant gaps in the front door, raising serious security and safety concerns. 2. Subpar Food and Beverage Quality The overall quality was comparable to a three-star resort: - Food Safety/Quality: We repeatedly encountered dirty plates and cups. We filed a formal complaint after being served cold, uncooked chicken, which is a serious health risk. - Beverages: The selection was poor (only one white wine and two disappointing beers). Staff refused requests for canned drinks (visible in fridges), only providing low-quality pump drinks. A staff member explicitly stated that the resort is a "low budget 5-star." - Misrepresentation: If the resort cannot deliver a true five-star experience, it should not be advertised as such. 3. Maintenance and Safety Concerns The entire site appears to be in need of refurbishment. The pools, in particular, have numerous loose, sharp tiles that pose a significant safety risk to guests, especially children (pictures attached). 4. Aggressive and Deceptive Sales Tactics We were lured into a high-pressure, two-hour "sales triangle" presentation under the false pretense of receiving tickets to view another hotel. This session was an aggressive attempt to pressure us into a $30,000 deposit, which strongly resembles a timeshare scam. We were told this membership was the only way to access "premier" food and drink, which fundamentally contradicts the advertised "five-star" all-inclusive experience. Finally, upon checkout, staff deceitfully attempted to charge us for wine that we were compelled to purchase due to the poor quality of the complimentary options, despite agreeing earlier to remove the charge. Our family vacation was ruined by the combination of consistently poor service and the need to constantly deal with these issues and aggressive sales tactics. I urge you to address these severe issues, particularly the misleading advertising and the deceptive sales operation on your property.

"There's something for everyone"

10.0

We have visited this location several times. The staff is very friendly and hospitable. They all work really hard to make sure that our stay is as enjoyable as possible. Depending on the time of year, the kids have also enjoyed Star Camp, meeting new friends and making great memories. In the past they have really enjoyed Yisell at Star Camp, she was so good with the children. She has since moved to the Prestige Lounge and we have only had great experiences with her. She's always willing to help us with anything we need, and always with a smile. Hugo at the bar is also a pleasure, crafting up delicious and pretty drinks, unheard of - the guy is a genius!! Santiago at the pool is also worth a mention. Angel, Ventura, Nerma & Delphina at the beach - thanks again for making our days of "doing absolutely nothing" so enjoyable. There's always something to do at this resort for guests of all ages, depending on what you like to do, from fitness to activities, etc. But for us, spending the time to do absolutely nothing at the beach or the pool is a blessing. See you again next time!!

"1 week at IB Waves Parasio Beach"

8.0

Just returned from a week at the resort with friends. Large walkable resort that also has golf carts running throughout the grounds for those requiring a ride. Always found room at the pool or beach prior to 9am. There is a good section out front with no rocks in the ocean available for everyone to enjoy. Bar and beach grill open daily and right at the beach. Pool was a little dirty as there is lots of vegetation around so spent most of our time at the ocean. 2 recommendations… coffee or a continental breakfast down near the beach as you have to go all the up to the buffet to get a morning java. Also, only 1 place to get towels and it’s by the pool. A towel shack near the beach would be great.

"Good Resort Infra but there is room for improvements"

6.0

To start I have been traveling to Cancun resorts for a few years so I have a few things to compare. I put facts here and I’ll let you come to your own conclusions. I stayed 6 nights at this hotel. 1) I believe I spent a total of 2 hours or more combined in the beach bar line to order a drink. The busiest bar the hotel had only 2 persons serving drinks, and the beach was the busiest as well. Drinks are not great as you can imagine, barely no alcohol is being added to drinks. 2) the nature in the resort premises is something else. If you like being close to nature I would recommend that. 3) resort is big so you need golf carts to move around, and they are not always available. 4) restaurants have a lot to improve, on how to serve your guests and also on the food quality and diversity. I stopped having lunch after the 3rd day as the food was not good and I found more of the same every day. Breakfast is good though with a lot of variety. 5) A lot of activities going on during the day in the hotel, that was good, gym is with very good and new equipments, also a few classes are available so you can burn the calories from the bad sugary drinks you had. 6) There were not enough chairs at the beach area so come early in the morning like 8/9am otherwise you will have no place to sit 7) pools are good 8) my room was ok, bathroom seemed very old and renovation is required. 9) beach was also ok. 10) we had an issue with a icemaker making a really loud noise at 11pm one day, everyone in my building block had to call the front desk to complain so they could take an action. it took close to 1 hour for the hotel maintenance people to show up and then to solve the issue. 111) Common areas were always very clean. Overall it was an ok stay but the resort needs a lot of improvement in different areas. Not sure if I would stay again here.
