Iberostar Waves Paraíso Beach - All Inclusive

Lovely place to stay until they charged us $100 USD for changing the bed sheets. They also had us go to our room before it was ready and maintenance had to stop by to paint. Also the toilet didn't work so that was another maintenance call

We stayed late Oct through to Nov. Check in was good and we went through to our room. For us arriving from UK it was 1am our time! Grounds of the hotel are beautifully kept, lovely large pool and lots of wildlife. We preferred this hotel to the likes of Lindo and Maya as felt more authentic. I really could not understand the justification to spend so much more to stay at the others. In the Beach hotel there was a good mix of Europeans, Mexicans, southern Americans etc. We requested our aircon to be turned down upon arrival and was set ok for the rest of the holidays. We did the sales breakfast, yet we kinda knew what to expect as have stayed in Mexico with similar selling schemes before. We took 200$ off an excursion booked. Therefore it’s a personal decision should you wish to spend time attending. It will be 3 hours not 90 minutes so be aware! We found the food to be just ‘OK’, plenty of options at the buffet, yet nothing was ‘Wow’. We did book the restaurants. We unfortunately had raw chicken, blood came through to the pork underneath, at the smokehouse, and did not eat anything that night. We found Italian and American to also be poor quality. We enjoyed the Japanese, and despite bad reviews on the French we found this to be by far the best for service, and the quality of the food. Very good Steak at the French! Not the hotels fault, yet I’m sure they could have better controls in place for the tong usage at meals times, contamination for fish, veg and meat dishes. I know they respect allergies yet if you have a preference to not eat fish or meat I.e. vegetarian you will struggle. Also minimal labelling and cautious as to whether correctly labelled. We enjoyed the coffee shop and crepe at the shopping arcade, most days too. The animation team were always running games in the pools, bingo and other activities in the lobby. Over Halloween the animation team put on the Tunnel of Terror in the convention hall which was very good. The Day of the dead celebrations were also good fun. Overall, we found it to be a beautiful location. Staff as usual with most hotels some were simply fantastic, others sadly looked in pain to be there working.

★★★☆☆The grounds at Iberostar Waves Paraíso Beach are genuinely lovely—lush, well-maintained tropical gardens and easy access to a beautiful stretch of beach. Beautiful pool too with lots of beds and multiple bars. First impressions were strong: the lobby is grand and welcoming, and our bellboy Omar was outstanding. He went above and beyond with luggage, directions, and helpful tips, making arrival smooth and stress-free.Our room was a good size and impeccably clean, with plenty of storage and a comfortable bed. That said, it felt outdated and plain—basic furnishings, neutral walls, and no modern flair. Functional, but not memorable.The all-inclusive buffet was okay: decent variety with fresh salads, international options, and Mexican dishes. Nothing exceptional, but it got the job done. We enjoyed the à la carte restaurants we managed to try—Japanese, Italian, Smokehouse, and especially Star Rock, which was our clear favorite for flavor and atmosphere. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get into any others; many were closed or fully booked by 9 a.m. despite reservations opening early.A major disappointment: we weren’t told by our travel agent that “all-inclusive” here comes with serious limitations. Most premium facilities, drinks, and services require Star Club membership or staying in select sections of the resort—otherwise, you’re paying extra for things you’d expect to be included. This lack of transparency left a sour taste.Upon arrival, we were offered what we thought was a welcome tour with a “free massage.” It quickly turned into a high-pressure timeshare pitch that wasted three hours of our vacation. We did eventually get the massage (booked for later), but the whole experience felt deceptive and aggressive. Not what you want on day one.Entertainment was a low point—dreadful, honestly. The nightly shows felt aimless, not geared toward kids or adults, and the constant awful karaoke was painful. The only all-inclusive bar option after hours was the lobby bar—no late-night alternatives. The staff, however, were universally warm, attentive, and professional—truly the highlight beyond the grounds and food.Removed two stars for the misleading timeshare trap and poor entertainment. Everything else ranged from good to very good, but those issues significantly impacted our stay.

Da parte da restauração da qualidade, variedade, quantidade, da inovação, de alterarem os menus todos os dias, da parte temática ( noites mexicanas, asiáticas, brasileira, etc) Da beleza natural, do Enquadramento da infra estruturas na natureza, no Cuidado paisagístico e urbano, a própria iluminação, a integração cuidada da parte urbana na natureza e a integração dos animais (coatis). Adorei o plano de atividades diárias, as festas, os espetáculos à noite, o quiz. A aplicação. Ficamos viciados na aplicação. Vale a pena explorar mais a aplicação exemplo torna-la mais interativa para os clientes. Também poderia ser interessante disponibilizar bicicletas para os Clientes e ter sítios em todo o lado para deixar bicicletas.

Me + 3 of my friends stayed at this wonderful resort. It was my 3rd time at the Waves Beach, but 6th time at the Paraíso resort. I keep coming back and bringing my family and friends not just because of the resort itself, but mostly it’s the prestige staff at the Del Mar. I’m a club member and the staff is like family here. I’ll be back in February/March and looking forward to seeing these lovely folks again soon. Thanks so much to Grecia, Laura, Ausel, Carlos & Shonny for taking such good care of us!! We appreciate all of those lovely prestige staff! The new prestige pool concierge unfortunately didn’t engage with us, but he was new so that’s likely why. The spa is also amazing. We spent every day there. Highly recommend trying it out. The ocean wasn’t great when we were there, due to the sargassum issue, but that’s the time of year so it’s wasn’t unexpected. Thankfully there is an amazing pool to go in just steps away. Looking forward to returning!

The property was lovely. The staff were excellent. The rooms were clean. The bed was comfortable. The food was good. However, there were things we didn’t care for. There was a pool bar that we were not allowed to use. It was for owners only. It was uncomfortable when we went to that bar and ordered a drink and refused service. There is only one pool bar (unless you are an owner) and it’s down closer to the beach and crowded. There was major construction and in order to get a drink at the only pool bar you had to get into the pool and carry the drinks in the water back to where you were lounging. There was a pool attendant but we only saw that person once during the week. We were very unhappy with the cleanliness of the pool. We were not informed of major construction before we arrived. Due to the construction, three of the main upscale restaurants were closed. We understand resorts need to do repairs and maintenance but we should have been informed of that. We would have booked different dates. Do not fall for the free lunch or offers for resort money. It’s a high pressure timeshare presentation that is a waste of valuable vacation time. It is not worth it unless you seriously want to buy a timeshare. In spite of these issues, we made a decision to make the best of it and had a nice time but we would not return.

We sat in one different section at breakfast buffet and experienced different servers, but we knew RIGHT AWAY on our 2nd day what BEST LOOKS LIKE. Not only was Erick Rivera service very TIMELY, CONSISTENT and ALWAYS there when we needed him, he is probably the MOST HUMBLE, POLITE, COURTEOUS, RESPECTFUL server we have EVER been fortunate to experience in our LIFETIME of TRAVELS. I am all about “Customer Service” and the importance of treating EVERY customer with TOP NOTCH SERVICE. Erick Rivera is a ROLE MODEL of what ALL YOUR EMPLOYEES at Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach should strive to be. To be so YOUNG (21 years old), he TRULY CARES and will give you TOP NOTCH SERVICE and TREATMENT!!! We WILL SEE HIM AGAIN!!!
