Chicago Getaway Hostel

Great value in a great location. We came to see Chicago, not to hang out in a hotel. We really just needed a safe and comfortable place to sleep. I’m so glad this place exists. It was just right for us. My two kids and I shared a room with a full+single bunk bed. It was basic but clean, comfortable, and safe-feeling.

I can’t think of anything that was a problem.

The facilities were great. Clean, well appointed. The people cleaning and those in food service were amazing. However the desk folks made errors, and the records were not accessed as their position required.

We purchased a parking slot. #12. It was directly linked to our room and we paid upfront for the space. We were shocked, the next morning, to have a threat to tow the car tucked under the windshield wiper. The desk staff on duty over night DID NOT CHECK to see if a paid resident had #12 slot. They just issued a citation in the middle of the night without checking the facts. The morning staff 8:30 am said another guest reported us. No apology. Desk clerk asked WHERE I got the parking plackard. He still did not check it out. Very disappointing. Never reached an "ok" and friendly conclusion.

Great location, friendly staff. The private room was good and quiet and clean. Bare essentials but it worked.

The shared bathroom is really not pleasant. The showers were grimey. I didn’t want to touch anything, the shower heads could use a scrub. Flip flops highly recommended.

Good hostel. Room with all the necessary.

Free breakfast, amazing location in a safe neighbourhood!

Stained sheets, the ac was not the strongest

- What i didn't like This male staff bursted into my room early Wednesday morning ( 7am) awakened me -talking to me loudly and rudely stating "don't lock the extra bolt lock on the room door Front desk Lady was dry, non-sociable, with bad energy

What I did like : location, the other front desk Lady's professionalism & demeanor

Breakfast included and amazing location
