Chicago Getaway Hostel

The hostel staff are super friendly and helpful. The overall vibe is dominated by friendly and open 'hostel-type' visitors. You can leave your food in the kitchen fridge or on the shelves, and nobody will touch it. The kitchen is well equipped. The rooms, bathrooms and kitchen area are clean. The breakfast selection is modest, but it is a hostel after all, and it was certainly better than in many US hotels. We felt very welcome. We had planned to stay for one night, but we liked it so much that we extended our stay to two nights.

We didn't encounter anything we didn't like. Parking is an issue, though. However, the hostel has some parking spaces, and there is a paid, safe hospital car park with plenty of space within a five-minute walking distance.

Very friendly reception staff available 24/7. The hotel is located very close to the city centre, the zoo, and the park. The metro station is within walking distance. The rooms are large, comfortable, pleasant, and clean. Breakfast very small and simple, but they were good enough.

great location, it was about 30 min away from downtown + an extremely lovely district to walk around :) we rented out a private room and it was quite spacious, having a personal AC was also a plus! so sad this place is gonna be shut down :(

bathroom was so far away from our room and it always had a weird smell :(
