The Grenville Hotel and Restaurant

The shower was amazing. The new king bed and the Beach supplies were very thoughtful and appreciated.

Everything great. Bed was a little too soft. Parking on street challenging. Otherwise, very nice.

Liked the ambiance of this Victorian style hotel. Room was clean, bed soft and it was one block from the water.

The grenville hotel is a beautiful old home with close proximity to the beach and other amenities in bayhead

The Air conditioner was not that cooling, our room was a little warm.

The location is about the only positive experience we had here.

My family of 4 recently visited the hotel for an overnight stay for my wife's birthday and mothers day. When booking our room, we booked a king suite as it suited our needs for 4 perfectly. When we arrived to the lobby there was no one there to receive us. There were other staff members that had been setting up for the Mothers Day brunch the following morning and they noticed us standing there with luggage and thankfully went and found someone for us. Our key and paperwork had just been left on the front desk- it seemed as though they assumed we would just check ourselves in. The hotel seemed fairly deserted (which made sense since our stay was during the shoulder season) but when we opened the door to our room we could probably see why. The "suite" was maybe 8'x14'. In that small space, they jammed in a king bed and a day bed that had a trundle that pulled out. There was barely any room to move around the king bed and no room to walk in the room when the trundle was out. On top of the minimal size, we were awaken in the morning to music coming from below us which we can only assume came from the kitchen since we were staying on the second floor with no guest rooms below us. On their site it seems as though there are multiple king "suites" that are marketed as great for family stays- this room was not that- it was laughable at best. As it was my wife's bday and mothers day weekend, I decided not to make a scene and ask why we were placed in such a small room and that I would mention something on the way out. Well over $300 for a space this small, during an off season time, really explains the perceived low occupancy rate We were told that we could have a continental breakfast the next morning and that the buffet was sold out (again understandable) but the breakfast provided was really sad.
