Palazzo Ferraioli - Hotel & Wellness

Our stay was amazing! All staff that we encountered were so helpful and spoke great English. Yes, there are a lot of stairs to get to the hotel, but this is not a secret. The hotel stares this very clearly. And it is very typical of all accommodations in the area. At check in, we were escorted to our room, which was stunningly beautiful. The included breakfast had quite a lot of variety with pastries, meat/cheese, egg options, toast, cereals, and beverages. The rooftop patio with bar service was incredible, we enjoyed the rooftop hot tub as well with views that take your breath away. I would highly recommend!!

Excellent staff

Our overall stay was let down by a few small details that made for, an overall, frustrating experience. The free WiFi advertised was awful. We couldn’t stream anything in the night and any messages were not sending throughout. The breakfast was a pretty limited offering for a £254 a night room and everything was stone cold. No Bain Marie to keep the food warm. The stay was saved by a very polite and helpful waitress who served amazing cocktails. Although we did wait 30 minutes for two cocktails. I understand if it is busy there will be a wait but there was only 1 visible waitress. This is a problem with the management not putting enough staff on. Or enough trained staff. If you do chose to come here I recommend the bar in the square where the cocktails are half the price and the service is quick.

Our stay was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING: - No direct access to the hotel — we had to carry our luggage up ~70 steps with no prior warning in the first page or even at the itinerary. - Room had a strong, unpleasant odor upon arrival. - Its much older than it looks like in pictures. - Third bed had no sheets, towels, or blanket — despite booking for 3 guests. - The most serious issue: we were locked out of the hotel at 1:00 AM. We rang the bell and called the hotel for over 2 hours with no response. Expedia couldn’t reach them either. - Finally let in at 3:15 AM by a staff member — a completely unacceptable and unsafe situation. We checked out the next morning due to the distress caused. This was far below basic hospitality standards. I’m requesting a full refund and they are charging me 300€ for a night that we spent it mostly at the steps behind the entry door!!!

Very nice hotel, rooms are remodeled like new, very clean. Nice staff, quiet area, large variety for breakfast. 10 min walk from Amalfi (use pedestrian tunnel to avoid heat and cars), 70 steps to reach the hotel from that street, which might be challenging for older people.

When I check-in , the reception staff did not explain about breakfast and Wifi password. However, reception staff at check-out was very kind. Of course she is a different person.

I’m giving this high rating because I had a payment issue during after-hours, and even though the manager wasn’t physically on-site, the front desk contacted them immediately and the issue was resolved within minutes. It showed how committed the manager is to supporting guests and providing excellent service, even outside of normal hours. Also, I want to mention that Expedia’s customer service was amazing as well. They supported me very well during the process and were extremely helpful. If you ever book the wrong place or face a problem, Expedia’s team is there to help. I’m really happy booking my stays through Expedia!

Disappointing Stay – Would Not Return I stayed at this hotel for 3 days with the intention of exploring the Amalfi area, but unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience overall and I would not return. While the staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel itself and the area around it were far from what was advertised. To reach the hotel, you have to climb about 70 steps — which are dirty, surrounded by overgrown greenery, and have a strong, unpleasant smell. The pathway felt sketchy, especially at night, with minimal lighting, which made it feel unsafe. Even though Amalfi is only a 10-minute walk away, it’s not an easy walk — it’s a steep, tiring climb with many stairs, definitely not something we looked forward to doing multiple times a day. The room itself didn’t feel clean or comfortable. The bathroom looked old and worn down, and even after cleaning, there were still visible hairs and the towels didn’t feel fresh. There was nothing luxurious about it, which was frustrating given the price we paid. The only positive was the view — but sadly, that alone wasn’t enough to make up for the rest of the experience. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. For the cost, you can find something much nicer, more accessible, and in a better area.
