Vila Ombak Hotel

We left this hotel early. Was meant to stay for 3 nights but did 2. The hotel itself is okay. Staff do what they can to help but service is slow, especially at the restaurant. Our issue was with the surrounding area. Gilli T was once beautiful but it has gone seriously downhill since I visited 7 years ago. The island is dirty, I couldn’t bear to look at the poor horses working in the heat with ill fitted equipment carrying humans, luggage and cargo that was way too heavy for them (the situation has improved since I last visited 7 years ago, I noticed more are now allowed to have breaks in the shade)- if your hotel is in walking distance, please just walk!! You’re not going to die, but the poor horses will die from exhaustion. To top it off, my husband kept being asked if he wanted to buy drugs by the locals. They would then get intimidating when he said no. Felt on edge and unsafe the whole time hence leaving early. When checking out early the hotel did not even ask what our problem was, just gave us a discount on our tab. If you want to party and do drugs go to gilli T , otherwise you will be best visiting with gilli Meno or Gilli Air.

Wooden balcony outside my room had rotten floorboards. Wooden beams are falling out. The light from the car park shines in your face at night, you cannot sit outside in the evening. When I paid with my credit card on arrival, KATE also took 300 ringgit or deposit. If they said will be returned in two weeks or less, I'm still waiting to get it back!!!

Hotel Review: Vila Ombak, Gili Trawangan We stayed in a two-bedroom villa at Vila Ombak and had a pleasant experience overall. The villa was spacious, comfortable, and well-maintained, with a large, nice bathroom that added to the comfort. A great perk was the four complimentary bicycles, which were very useful for exploring the island—especially since renting bikes outside the hotel costs around IDR 100k per day. We arrived early at 11 AM but were only able to get our room at 1:30 PM. However, the hotel allowed us to use the pool while we waited, which helped pass the time. The breakfast could use some improvement, as the selection and quality didn’t quite meet expectations. That said, the overall experience was enjoyable, and the location is great for those looking to relax while still being close to the action on Gili Trawangan. Would recommend it for a comfortable stay!

We stayed in a 2 bedroom Akoya pool villa with our 2 children (4 and 9) which was beautiful. The beds were very comfy and the rooms were clean and well cared for. We had a few issues locking the front doors but apart from that it was beautiful. It came with 4 bikes but we had to hire one with a child seat on as they don't have any available. We ate at the hotel a few times. We did have breakfast included but the food is all left uncovered and there are flies everywhere so we decided to eat out. This was the only issue with the hotel. They really need to try better to manage the flies as other places on the island do. Saying that, it was our only complaint. The staff are very good, made our girls feel very welcome. The main pool is beautiful and the happy hour is very happy! The location on the island is perfect! The it's nice and quiet but right down the road there are bars and restaurants and we cycled to sunset point in 5/10 mins. We swam right outside the hotel and there were turtles!! There are also the bikes underwater so amazing for snorkeling. This is a great hotel in a beautiful location. (Please get the flies under control). We will be back!

The staff are amazing!! Especially Harjon!! He made our stay very special! I can’t recommend this hotel enough its mix between great location and awesome food and people!! We will be back even though we are coming all the way from Canada! Love to all!

The outdoor areas of the property were nicely maintained. The room furniture was old and very dated. The bathroom was horrible to look at. Nothing had been done to update the bathroom in the past 11 years.

Hotel was OK. Room and bed was big. Pillows all to big though which were uncomfortable. Breakfast wasn't very good. Room was clean except for old food left in fridge. Room was tired

Room was really good with a great bathroom. Not completely happy with our stay as we weren’t offered an upgrade, when we asked for it we were charged and had to pay for it.

Staff was great. Nice pool area. Very clean. Rooms are outdated for the price paid. Good location.
