It was a quaint little cottage in a lovely area near Ditchling village and the Beacon. The cottage was well equipped, clean and comfy. We didn't see anything of our hosts, but telephone calls and messages showed that they did care about our comfort whilst staying in the property.

The cottage was very chilly when we arrived and did take till the next morning to begin to warm up properly. Of course this wouldn't be a problem in the warmer months. The cottage is a little bit tired now and clearly has been well used, but as a reasonably priced base for visiting a lovely part of the country, it is fine for a short break.

Very easy. I pressed the intercom at the main house and was told where the keys were.

There's a step going up that's a little slippery.

Small but quite well appointed, good position for what we wanted, surrounded by lovely countryside. We have relatives in the area, so didn't spent a lot of time at the property.

The list of equipment included a DVD player and a washing machine-both of which I planned to use, however neither were present. I was very disappointed as I took my favourite seasonal DVD, but couldn't watch it. Some of the kitchen equipment needs a refresh. Considering these things and the size of the property it is rather expensive.
