Prinsotel La Caleta Hotel

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We grabbed a last-minute deal with Jet2 for May half term and stayed in a one-bedroom suite at Prinsotel La Caleta. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous – modern, clean, and well-maintained. The pool area was great with plenty of sun loungers available at all times. The pool isn't heated, so it was a bit chilly at first, but totally fine once you’re in. It’s a short walk down some steps to the beach, where we saw all sorts of sea life – fish, jellyfish, and even some ducks! We opted for half board and were really impressed with the restaurant. Both breakfast and dinner offered a great variety of dishes, with live cooking stations every evening. If you want a table on the terrace, it’s best to arrive early. The pool bar had a good selection of drinks at reasonable prices. You can also grab food here, which is served in cardboard boxes so you can enjoy it poolside. The location is peaceful and perfect for a relaxing break. There’s a well-stocked supermarket just across the road, and you can reach the charming town of Ciutadella by taxi for around €6 (payable by card or cash). There are also a few small beaches within walking distance. Would I return? Absolutely! We had such a lovely stay and I can’t wait to go back.

Hotel is located near quiet cove/beach and has well maintained garden which make spending time outdoor within the hotel ground so relaxing. It may be because we visited end of June, not a summer peak time though. Gym kept clean and tidy most of the time with good choice of machines/equipment and wasn't too crowded at all. House keeping staff were friendly and helpful serving the room always clean and tidy. My bathroom window facing west sun which made the room quite hot during the day but my other group members' room located on the top floor level near the stairs stayed always cool.

Stayed at this lovely hotel for 3 days with my mum and daughter. The staff are so friendly, especially Olivia on the front desk and the pool areas are fantastic. We didn’t have any trouble getting sun beds round the pool, although we where visiting at the back end of the school holidays. Not a lot of restaurants near by so chose to eat breakfast at the hotel which is buffet style. As we had booked a room only package we paid for breakfast at the hotel at a cost of €19 for Adults and €10 for Kids. This might sound pricey but doing it this way worked out more cost effective than adding breakfast to our package when booking the holiday with Jet2. In the evening we ate at a lovely restaurant directly to the back of the hotel, The Grill restaurant on site which I personally wouldn’t recommend and one evening we got a taxi to Ciutadella. I would definitely recommend going into Ciutadella to eat at night, it’s beautiful. The front desk will order you a taxi and then to return to the hotel there is a designated taxi area in Ciutadella. Taxis cost between €7 -€8 euros (taxis are cheaper during the day). I would definitely return to this hotel in the future.

Love Ciutadella but didn't like this hotel or location. Our small room faced a tall hedge and road. Shortly after arrival, there was a heavy downpour. Though to be fair that was the only rain all week. Didn't like the layout of sunbeds round the pool. No spaces between or little tables. You either sat in the sun or the shade.. The restaurant was busy but it felt Spanish at least, due to lots of Spaniards enjoying themselves. Nowhere really nearby to have lunch.My mobility isn't great so didn't venture far.. Next time we return to Menorca l'll research the area more..Sorry..

Knowing Menorca and the area this hotel was based, we opted for a few days away, hoping for a last glimpse of Summer. The Hotel is perfectly located with Cala Santandria one side, & Sa Caleta the other side. 10 minutes in a taxi to Ciutadella City, so location wise, it is perfect. Arriving near the end of October, with the Island closing for the winter months, I was slightly sceptical of what to expect, but any fears upon arriving and nothing being open, soon dissipated away. The Hotel itself is beautifully presented, from the reception to the gardens. Having a One Bedroom Suite, we were directed to the Private Reception, & warmly greeted by the staff member, & drinks and snacks duly offered. The One Bedroom Suite was immaculate, overlooking the pool and so far so good, with a large double balcony and ample room. We opted for Half Board basis, & the food in the evening was to a very high standard, with so many choices, followed by breakfast, which was equally impressive in the selection. We also tried the Snack Bar at Lunchtime, & also Picco Restaurant on site, which were both serving high quality food. As the Hotel was not busy due to being end of season, evenings were spent walking to Cala Blanca. As normally for me, the staff are what make a Hotel, & every single member I spoke to, were all positive, warm & friendly. Special mention to Ana, who was effervescent & friendly during our whole stay. A true credit to the hotel & herself. I cannot pass comment on what the hotel would be like at the height of summer, but expect that the large layout of the grounds, would disperse any fears of a packed out environment. All in all, a truly wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel.

This was our 4th stay to this hotel as we absolutely love the beautiful location of the hotel. This year we selected a one-bedroom suite. Last year we had a two-bedroom suite but we didn't like the view onto the busy road outside. The one-bedroomed suite was nice, however our view of the pool was completely obstructed by a very large tree. I had got in touch with hotel to ask for a pool view so it's a shame that we were stuck at the end looking at a tree for the week of our stay. Pros - the staff at Salt pool bar are amazing and the food is fabulous! The areas around the pool are spotless, cleaners are out every morning washing the ground. Staff throughout the hotel are lovely. Cons - the rooms are not as clean as they should be. We had this problem last year too when we asked to be moved rooms because they were dirty. The floor desperately needs scrubbed! The finishings are not clean and tidy either. We spoke to a few other families who found the same problem. Towels were often dirty, particularly those given out around the pool. The new slabbing around the pool at the suites is not slip-proof. We saw a number of children slip, including my own. Another few parents did mention this to the staff. I would imagine in July/August when it's busy that this would be treacherous for young children. When we checked in we were directed to the suite check in. Those who checked in in the main area received prosecco. We did not, even though we had paid more money, this seems a bit unfair. We will return hotel again but it's not worth the July prices (when we used to visit). I'm sure we will return again in october!
