The Old Crown Coaching Inn is a delightful place in every way. The staff are awesome. They are happy for a chat and a laugh while delivering perfect service. The rooms are beautiful, so clean and comfortable. The beds are so comfy and the pillows are the best!! The food is by far the best in the area. This is our second stay and we could not fault it. We will return.

A great property with a great owner/manager. One of the best places we stayed at during a 15 night road trip. We also had the added bonus of arriving on Folly Festival day and enjoying the courtyard DJs. We had an excellent evening amongst the locals. Rather sadly though, the owner was let down by his young bar staff who couldn’t care less or find it in them to offer meaningful assistance when we arrived to find roads closed and no parking. Having seemingly been blamed for not knowing and been spoken to as though we knew the area, it was left to us to find somewhere before we paid to park and lugged our baggage across town in 30 degrees heat. The two barmaids do not seem to have accepted the validity of our disappointment because later that evening in the bar we were pointedly made to wait to be served as they continued their conversations and then when we were served we were overcharged. £5:50 for a pint is acceptable, but £7 for half pint of apple juice straight out the carton? Really? Feeling unwelcome we avoided the bar for the rest of the evening rather than expose ourselves to the rest of their repertoire.

Just passing through, but a fantastic place to stay. Great bar, live music, awesome breakfast, clean and comfy room. We'll be back.

I had a wonderful stay. Lovely hotel in a fantastic building with lots of character. Food was excellent all the team were friendly & professional. I will be returning.

We had the executive room which was basic but was very clean and had everything we needed. King sized bed. Breakfast was to an excellent standard with good quality produce. We would go again.

Since I didn't want to stay at a soul-less corporate hotel, a good friend who lives nearby said to try the Crown, though he knew very little about it, and had never even entered until he met me for lunch. I had lunch & breakfast. Both meals were very high quality (portions - generous & hot!). I regret having gone into Oxford for dinner. I should have stayed at the hotel. Next time.. Safe off-road parking Staff are wonderful. Thanks to Polly, Daisy & Alina for making me feel welcome & at home. Decor is classy / rustic but understated - very nice! I understand that the building, under relatively new ownership, has been completely renovated during the past 3 years. Spotlessly clean. I was concerned that my room, overlooking the courtyard bar tables, might be noisy, but a few moments after I got to my room, the noise & chatter stopped. It is a long time since I was shown to my room in the UK, as opposed to "here's your key, mate. Up the stairs on the right..." Little gestures like that go a long way, and won't be forgotten I have an allergy to feathers, so Polly checked that my request had been fulfilled - it had.. I will certainly stay again for both business & pleasure Thank you Warm regards ian

Quiet few days away very nice hotel and restaurant can’t fault it

I stayed at The Old Coaching Inn in Faringdon for a brief overnight stop to break up a long drive ahead of a business meeting near Milton Keynes—and I couldn't have chosen better. The inn is full of historic charm, with a welcoming atmosphere that made my short visit feel more like a relaxing getaway than a quick stopover. The room was spotless, quiet, and very comfortable—ideal for getting a good night's rest before an early start. The staff were especially friendly and accommodating, offering a warm welcome and excellent service. Though my stay was brief, I was genuinely impressed by how much care and attention went into making guests feel at home. It's clear that this is a well-run establishment with high standards. Whether you're passing through or staying longer, The Old Coaching Inn is a fantastic choice. I’ll certainly keep it in mind for future visits.

Lovely oldie place to stay, has great character and charm. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, rooms really clean and comfortable lovely bar and wine bar area, breakfast was nice. Not a great deal happening in the village but a great base for exploring the area around the Cotswolds, Swindon etc. Not far from Didkey squat farm and the Farmers Dog Pub, some lovely villages near by worth a visit. Definitely come back to stay here again. My only disappointment was the food offering, excellent quality but need some simple quick bar snacks and some simple dishes, but otherwise great
