Lovely night for my husbands birthday. Free upgrade which was nice. Room very comfortable although a bit hot and breakfast was lovely with good service . Great location on the edge of grasmere village.

Lovely short break, room was exceptionally hot, thank goodness for air con that was needed even though it was end of October and raining

Location was great. Not much to do in grasmere at night tho. The hotel would've been lovely but it was just too hot, a good night's sleep was difficult because of it too.

Hotel but stuffy blonde lady on reception excellent. Rooms nice clean far too warm . Didn’t even need quilt at night had window open all night even in October. Pool tired . Food poor at night excellent breakfast though . Older clients . Parking good well situated in village grasmere very dull at night no atmosphere what’s so ever.

Really enjoyed are stay. Staff very friendly and service excellent. Room was little to warm even with heating off and windows open so we had to use a fan.

We had a totally relaxing short break as first time stayers at this hotel to celebrate a birthday and wedding anniversary which fall on the same day. Definitely a quality

Staff are very friendly,hotel furniture is looking a bit dated ,food is of good quality our room was a little noisy as above kitchen but overall we would return to stay again

Lovely hotel, perfectly located for walking. Nice that hotel let us use their car park before and after checking out.

Hotel itself is beautiful. Stunning gardens. Staff very friendly. Very clean and perfect location. Unfortunately for us the fire alarm went off at 520 am. We waited outside for about 40 mins. It was a false alarm but I think the fire procedure needs looking at, there was no communication. Got back to bed about 6 am. Around 630 am a generator was turned on, we had the kitchen below our bedroom window so had a humming noise. 7 am onwards were deliveries of food and loud reversing vans/ voices. The room was very hot so we needed the window open. I would definitely go back but ask for a different room. It was disappointing, it was a birthday present for my husband who is currently going through a bad time, we were looking forward to having a lie in. We loved Grasmere and made the most of our time there.

Our stay at this hotel was delightful, for us it was a few days of relaxing in a beautiful location in the heart of the Lake District. There a local amenities nearby and the local bus service to get you around to Ambleside, Keswick or Kendal if needed. The staff are all very friendly and know how to look after their guests. Although Spa treatments were not available during our visit the pool, sauna and jacuzzi were all we needed. Cream tea in the conservatory was a nice treat we had one day with views over the hotel gardens.
