Lovely room, friendly staff and had the pool all to ourselves!

Centrally located in beautiful Grasmere. Outstanding restaurant in an 5-star hotel ... the best in town.

Lovely location. Hotel is nice but needs to be updated. Some of the furniture and decor is very old and dated. Radiator in bathroom and dressing table in our room were dirty. Bed was queen size not double. Staff were nice but the lady nearly checked us into the wrong room.

The Wordsworth is a lovely hotel in a great location. The staff are friendly and helpful. Dinner and breakfast was delicious.

Hotel is in a great location but for the price could do with updating and a little bit more love. Room was clean but there was no hot water, the lamp shades were wonky and falling down and the fan was broken (which would be fine is the room wasn’t the temperature of the sun). Like I said, no major complaints but for the price you do expect a little more.

The Wordsworth Hotel is situated in the beautiful town of Grasemere about 30minutes from the picturesque Lake Windermere. We thoroughly enjoyed our 6 night stay, the staff were very welcoming/friendly, breakfast was delicious/well made, the swimming pool/spa area/view from our hotel was great, the surrounding areas were absolutely beautiful and the local people were very polite. I will definitely booking this stay again!

The hotel was set in beautiful gardens. Staff were very friendly and courteous . Excellent choice at breakfast but the dinner was disappointing . The menu was very limited to choice

Staff are amazing from the time you Sue called to confirmed our arrival and what time we liked to have breakfast. The staff were mostly the same from when we got married in Jan 2019 and are amazing. Will definitely be back

Fantastic hotel situation within the heart of Grasmere, the lake only a 5 minute stroll from the hotel. The staff were friendly throughout our stay, from the reception staff to the restaurant staff for breakfast. The lure for the hotel, for us, was the use of the pool/jacuzzi/sauna option from 8am-8pm daily, including before breakfast! This was clean and tidy, and a very welcomed addition to the stay. The breakfast was fantastic. Fresh continental buffet option in addition to a cooked breakfast option, which was cooked perfectly and clearly very premium ingredients used. Our only negative comment is the room which we were given, which was extremely noisy and tainted the stay. Our room (33) was adjacent to the hotel’s elevator, and so throughout the evening until past 11:30 the elevator would make an almighty sound as it started going up or going down, which would wake us up if sleeping but otherwise was not relaxing in our room whatsoever. I asked the staff at reception if the elevator is turned off at all past a reasonably time (e.g. 10pm), unless required for guest access, and I was told that it is not, and this was very poor. When we booked the toom, it should have been noted that this room can be particularly noisy due to the elevator, as we possibly would not have booked this hotel with this knowledge! We had an extremely poor sleep, but we saw the positives in the rest of the hotel.
