The Roundhouse

We went as a couple and booked the cheaper room and it was great!! The pictures of the room on the hotel's website don't really deliver...the room was bigger than we thought it would be!!! Great room and living space!! We also had a great breakfast...if you have the pancakes choice...do order only 2 as they bring 3 x person and they are huge!!!! The view from the top of the hotel is super!!!! The booklet in the room explaining the info is very good also for restaurants...even thought one evening we went to the pub one and wasn't mad for their food!! The only thing we weren't mad about were the curtains in the room..no black outs!! So at 6:30/7am the light may awaken you!!! I would reccomend this hotel to anyone that wants piece and romance and wants to enjoy the surranding nature!!!

Sehr netter Checkin incl. vieler guter Tips.Großes Cottage mit 3 Schlafzimern und 2 Bädern, in sehr gutem Zustand mit allem,was man braucht.Ideale Lage für "Landbased Whalewatching".Bäcker und Pub um die Ecke.Nach Gansbay 3 Min mit dem Auto(Restaurants,Geschäfte,Whalewatching-Boote).Super Preis/Leistung ,gerne wieder !

The lighthouse building was gorgeous and we loved the jacuzzi. I was a little surprised that we weren't actually staying inside the lighthouse building, but in a separate three bedroom cottage. The cottage was awesome, but I had fallen in love with the lighthouse structure on the website. Best place to find whales on the shore!

Excellent view and nice amenities. Rooms are large but a little crowded (coffee table and chairs could shrink, queensize bed would fit the bedroom better than king), however very functional. Owners/managers are very helpful and attentive.

This was our favorite hotel on our 2 week tour of South Africa. The room was large and very inexpensive. The property was well maintained and had all of the upgrades. Upon arrival we were greeted by the caretaker who had upgraded us for free just because there was a better room available that night. He gave us a full tour of the property then when we asked about a good local restaurant not only had a great recommendation but called the owner to make sure he would save a table for us. The location was convenient, very close to our shark diving location the next morning. The view from the hotel was amazing. It overlooked a bay where there were a lot of Southern Right Whales. We were sad to leave this location and wish we could have stayed there a week. An excellent choice for hotel if you will be in the Gansbaai area! We highly, highly recommend it and couldn't stop talking about how great it was after we left.
