Tower House Hotel

Very friendly helpful efficient staff. We had a family room that had excellent facilities and was very quiet as it was tucked away from the function room and bar.

On arrival, first thing we saw was an old white transit van with green moss all over it in the car park...then a buildi g all in darkness with no real 'emtrance' visible. The entrance once we eventually found it was past the smokers area which had all dirty ash trays around. There was no one at the dark reception area & no light switches visible. After shouting for a few minutes someone came and checked us in, but failed to tell us anything about breakfast or where it was. The room was clean and comfortable and we all slept well. The next morning, no one at reception again and we searched downstairs & found the food area. It was Novemver & freezing in the breakfast room. Continental breakfast was nice though.

Hotel located on the edge of Halifax, up a steep hill. Quiet location. Room was clean and in good condition but on the small size for a double. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Good continental breakfast with a very good cooked (to order) breakfast available for an additional charge.

A one night stop for visit to Halifax. On entry to hotel there was no one in reception or in bar to help us check in. Room was very small with only the bed to sit on. Information booklet was not welcoming with many warnings and 'do-nots'; got the sense they'd experienced problems of abuse and damage by previous guests. Shower didn't function properly. The choices for the continental breakfast were limited but enjoyable. Didn't live up to the rating that prompted us to book.
