Hospederia de los Parajes

Laguardia is an absolutely gorgeous village, and this is arguably the best hotel there. The location - right in the main square - is unbeatable. Service is very good. The receptionists Andrea and Maria are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was decent. Two negatives: (a) unless you get a room facing the square, you’ll end up with a very dark room, with almost zero sunlight, which is rather depressing; (b) there’s no laundry service in the hotel AND in the entire village. That said, i would still recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the Rioja region.

Lighting in the room was quite dark and although there are 2 windows they open to a covered area so no natural light or fresh air. We stayed in a standard room

Don't expect anything like the big hotel chain experience when you stay here. This hotel is idiosyncratic and reflects the personal taste of the owner. We had a wonderful time. The staff were all friendly and helpful and indeed endeavoured to treat us like "family" because that is the ethos of the hotel. the hotel is right in the centre of the main square of the town so is ideally situated. The downside of that is that no traffic is allowed inside the town walls so the private parking garage is some way away. i shoud also point out that some of the very luxurious rooms are completely internal, overlooking an enclosed courtyard
