Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda - All Inclusive

At first glance everything appeared to be fine until we noticed that the food was very Americanized at the buffet, the sports bar only had about 7 options for food (twice I ordered the smash burger with no bacon jam and twice it came with bacon jam. The wings were literally FRIED BONES), my bed sheets came with dried BLOOD on them and when I called to have the sheets changed, the housekeeper brought another set of sheets but this time with an even bigger stain. The tub was dirty upon arrival and the shower was rusted. The door to the stall opened inward leaving little to no space to get in to use the bathroom. The entire resort is a free for all when it comes to smoking so I got into an argument with another guest about blowing smoke in my children’s direction as they were eating their food. The resort shop charges $46 for a 180 mL bottle of sunblock spray. Overall, this was not worth the $3,600 I paid to be here. I definitely will not be back!

Loved the spacious room and balcony view to garden, access to pools and lots of dining options on property. The staff was friendly.

Loved this hotel. Esmeralda truly met all my expectations. That part of the resort was less crowded, and the staff was amazing. Excellent service all around. There is even a guest desk in every villa, very helpful without having to go to the lobby. The gym was well equipped, the rooms spacious and clean. Buffet food was excellent. Will definitely come back.

Stay was good . Didn’t like you could hear all the night activities & people walking around from our rooms . Rooms are a little outdated . But staff was nice & friendly & food was great !

The shows were very good and everyday was something different. The one thing I didn’t like was that the morning staff at Caicu restaurant were not very attentive.

The property was clean, rooms were updated, food was good and restaurants were good as well. The only thing I would suggest would be for staff to be a little more welcoming especially in the buffet areas. Should not take flashing USD to get a smile. Kids club was nice as well my daughter (8) enjoyed it and made friends. Loved the Dominican and Greek restaurants very tasty! Mexican could use work as service was lacking. Italian service was great but food barely good. I had the seafood ravioli and the tomato sauce tastes like it was out of a can. Used the Spa very clean, cool, relaxing very much enjoyed it! The front desk receptionist could have been a tad friendlier as well. I would return as overall hotel and experience was great!
