Holiday Inn ALMATY by IHG

I've stayed at this hotel several times and it's my hotel of choice when visiting Almaty. As always the room was inviting and comfortable. The staff was quick and helpful.

We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed it. Beds are comfortable, breakfast had a lot of options, the room was clean. Front desk staff speak English. Can’t complain!

Nice hotel and very good staff but shame the aircon wouldn’t cool the room therefore became too hot for me to sleep well.

If it’s a short trip, and you don’t want to spend much money, this is an OK option. I do think you can do a bit better in Almaty for the same amount of money though.

Good value for the money paid. Especially for business trips.

The hotel is well located and has some but not full essence of a Holiday Inn. First: my room was facing the street on the 7th floor and i was amazed at the lack of sound insulation! Terrible is an understatement. The hotel is providing ear plugs at the bedside so they know this problem. Please avoid such a room if you decide to stay there. finally a very very tiny issue but shows integrity: my colleague was charged 2000 tengey (local currency so about 5 gbp) for a taxi that would have charged 200 tengey (50p). and should the hotel be considerate: they should have advised her to walk 5 mins. lol. Be careful!

Nice, clean and confortable hotel in almaty. Wifi is good staff is nice and helpful.food and room service a little bit overpriced.location is ok but a bit far from the center and theres not much around. Yu'll have to walk a lot, metro is not efficient, not enough stations and very far one from another. Then the taxis, absolute nightmare they will all rip you off and try to make yu pay as much as 10 times than locals. Thats the biggest issue in kazakhstan. Be very very careful with taxis, always negotiate the fare before you get in and always ask a local what should be a fair price.

The rooms were standard Holiday Inn rooms, but the beds were amazing!!!! The staff was helpful. Food was okay

I booked a executive room, but the front desk gave me a standard room... I stayed for 5 nights but the hotel did not change my bath robe, even when I left it together with the used towels. housekeeping just hanged up the robe... Overall a comfortable stay and the restaurant staff worked hard.

We had a great stay at the Holiday Inn. Good clean room, good WIFI, hot showers, great service in a nice area and all at a good price. Not sure what else could have been done different. Will come back here again.
