"Good 4 star hotel"

Good hotel, very clean and quiet. Perfect for short stays, e.g. flight layovers or business trips. Close to the Republic Square but no good shopping facilities nearby.

"Good location, but not guest friendly!"

Staff were not very welcoming, helpful and guest friendly. I was in Almaty to visit a friend and stayed for the first time in Holiday Inn, (before I used to stay in the intercontinental Almaty, very comforting for a little bit more money). My friend came to visit me in the hotel, and the staff wanted to charge me in order for my friend to come to my room for a coffee. Thinking, and assuming that my friend was going to stay the night, even though I explained. Not allowed visitors, as if I was in a prison, and the security at the door is watching you. I asked house keeping for extra tea and sugar, as I am a big tea drinker. I was even questioned by the cleaning lady on why I want so much tea. Disgrace ,as I was not staying there for free. Being an IHG member and I am a regular traveller, and stay in many different top 4-5 star hotels, but I had the worst experience in this one Not very comfortable stay, and I will definitely not stay ther again, and will not recommend a friend either.

"Not as nice as the typical Holiday Inn"

This felt closer to a motel 6 than a holiday inn. The bathroom was awkwardly configured, and the shower curtain smelled musty. The room was too warm and the coverlet heavy, so it was hard to sleep - and the bedding was scratchy too. The food was mediocre, compared with some lovely meals elsewhere in Almaty. The staff were very nice, but the hotel itself leaves something to be desired. The hotel is not central so it's difficult to walk places.

"Not a bad stay"

The hotel staffs are very friendly and helpful. The location is in the Center of city where it is easy for pick up and drop off. There are some good restaurants nearby the hotel which is easy to go there by taxi. I will come back this hotel.

"Simple and reasonably priced"

Didn't get breakfast based on reviews by others. Bathroom was poorly laid out and cramped. Sink was too far from edge so you had to lean a long way to wash hands or brush teeth. Overall the room was fine.

"Tried and trusted reliable hotel"

A regular hotel guest. As always it's clean comfortable modern and has a good atmosphere unlike its intercontinental neighbour which is soulless and 50% more in price. It's nitmally my first choice in Almaty Only negative is the breakfast isn't particularly inspiring

"Exceptional"

Stayed for a trip coming back from Kyrgyzstan on completing an adoption. Hope was reasonably priced, and a quick cab ride to the U.S. Embassy. They wouldn't call city cabs, but did have reasonably priced transportation. (not like some other hotels in the area).
