Grand Hotel Royal E Golf

The hotel, whilst it looks fine from the entrance, is tired and in need of significant investment. The location is fantastic. Best part. We had a superior room with a fabulous direct view of Monte Bianco. Bathroom is old, dirty pointing around the bath, fittings at least 20 years old, broken dirty fan, etc. And they don’t make the beds properly-no duvet cover-just a duvet sandwiched between two sheets which turns into a twisted mess by morning. Breakfast was ordinary-lots of pastries, limited fruit. Fried eggs we ordered turned up looking as if they had been cooked on a dirty barbecue pan and the bacon was inedible. We left both. Front and rear gardens could be lovely, but are poorly maintained. No one bothers to move furniture to mow the grass which is growing wild. Sun loungers in the back are old and broken. The spa is similarly poorly maintained and in need of complete closure and renovation. All in all a pretty disappointing experience for us in the so called “best hotel in Courmayeur”. When I spoke to the manager he became extremely defensive and didn’t seem to accept there was any problem. He asked me to speak to the housekeeping manager about the beds as he “didn’t know how to make a bed”. I refused and told him that was his job. Quite incredible. We live in Asia. This hotel wouldn’t last a week there.

Camera accogliente, personale cordiale e disponibile posizione eccellente

La SPA! in particolare il Bagno turco fatiscente, impressione di vecchio e scadente con pezzi di piastrelline cadute e cadenti. Da RISTRUTTURARE. ASSOLUTAMENTE NON ADEGUATO ALLA STRUTTURA. La Sauna, vecchia mezza bruciata e tra l'altro sulla rivista brochure dell Hotel viene mostrata, in maniera del tutto ingannevole la sauna posizionata nel giardino che in realtà è usata come deposito di materassini e ciarpame vario! Non so cosa mi abbia trattenuto dal chiedere un rimborso avendo prenotato una camera con accesso alla spa incluso nella tariffa!! PROVVEDETE QUANTO PRIMA

La posizione è imbattibile, l'hotel si trova nel cuore di Courmayeur a pochi passi da negozi, ristoranti e dalla funivia. Il fascino dell’edificio storico è evidente fin dall’ingresso con ambienti eleganti e ben curati. La mia camera era ampia, silenziosa e dotata di ogni comfort, con una vista spettacolare sulle montagne. Pulizia impeccabile e biancheria di qualità. Il punto forte è la spa: piscina esterna riscaldata con vista sul Monte Bianco, sauna e bagno turco perfetti per rilassarsi dopo una giornata di escursioni. La colazione offre un’ampia scelta di prodotti freschi, dolci e salati, con un servizio attento ma mai invadente.

Location, location, location. Prestigious building and glamorous entrance, reception but above all the lounge bar, bistro and dining room with great views of the mountains. The staff were the epitome of why we love Italy - it’s people.
