ibis Bordeaux Centre Bastide

5 min walk to centre

We were in Bordeaux to experience the wine. We were also their during the Euro2016 soccer tournament. They were also preparing for their Bordeaux Fest. Unfortunately the city was not able to cope with the mess made from the revelers at the soccer tournament. Streets were dirty with broken glass, beer bottles, cigarette stubs, paper, etc. Didn't make for a pleasant experience walking around. Ibis is a basic hotel. The room was small but relatively clean. Breakfast was basic but available.

Great hotel for a budget one night stay. Friendly, efficient staff, comfortable bed, decent shower, good value breakfast. Opposite side of the river from the main part of town, so fairly quiet, and only a 15-20 minute walk across the bridge to the main sights of Bordeaux.

Great value for money, 5 mins tram ride to downtown

This Ibis hotel was super clean and was a great hotel for the price. I haven't been to other but my friend from France said they are all very nice and well kept. This particular Ibis had great rooms that were clean, new, and were nice to come back to after a long day. The common areas and the small bar/restaurant area was modern, hip, and very well kept with a good selection of food and two very nice automatic coffee/espresso machines.

Great location reception area nice. This is not up to Accor standard room---no tea or coffee making/ no tissues/no hand towels/no toilet brush to clean toilet/ floor was not cleaned for the 2 days we stayed ,there was hair on bathroom floor and I dropped a piece of lolly paper on floor still there after 2 days.

Comfortable and functional Dog friendly and useful car parking

This stay was a mix of business and pleasure, we found the hotel ideal, the staff where very accommodating and friendly, the food was excellent and good value. The only negative was the room temperature "Far too hot" and the air conditioning was useless. Because of the heat we had to leave the window open, and my wife was badly bitten with mosuito's

The Expedia picture was of the rail station, where there is another Ibis. This hotel is not near the station, but about 30 mins walk away. It is also across the river from the main 'tourist' part of Bordeaux. This is actually good as you get to walk or take the tram across the Garonne twice a day. The tourist bits of Bordeaux are about 15 minutes really nice walk away from hotel so it is all good. The area around the hotel is a bit run down / being regenerated (late 2015) but is also fine and clearly on the way up. The hotel itself is good - clean, modern, helpful staff etc. - and the location is better than it seems if you first walk there from the station. So I would stay in this hotel again if I visited Bordeaux again - and I really hope to go back.
