ibis Bordeaux Centre Gare Saint Jean

Building exterior belies the warmth and cheer of the welcome inside.

Typical Ibis hotel, a short walk from the railway station and next to the river. Easy to get a tram to get about. There are several other Ibis hotels in the area, so be sure to go to the right one. Check-in and out staff excellent, both friendly and efficient. Breakfast a bit limited by Covid-19 restrictions. I was given a room which I think is aimed for people in wheelchairs, so both the bedroom and the bathroom were bigger then normal for an Ibis hotel. The hotel was as expected and I would certainly use in again.

Convenient

It wasn´t good at all. I made the reservation online and the hotel confirmed it and deducted the money from credit card. When my mother arrived at the hotel they said that they did not have any booking. She showed the confirmation number as well as the payment done in my card and they said no. This was 9pm so she paid on spot for her room. What basically happened is that the hotel has charged the room fee twice....still no money refund in my card....

Nothing was special or un expected just all ok but expensive for what wss provided

The location for our purposes (travelling further afield) was great as very close to the rail station, it was also easy access to the town centre, The only slight complaint is the room was quite small and would benefit from having tea and coffee making facilities in the room, otherwise 😁👍

Excellent location close to train and bus station.

This was the smallest room we had in two weeks of travel. If you have lots of luggage it can pose some issues. The beds are small and tight. The bathroom door doubles as an extra door to the hallway. This is great to cut down noise; kind of awkward when using the bathroom. The bathroom is also very small. So with two people it’s rather tight. But they try hard. The staff is awesome. The breakfast was fantastic and the decor is very calming. The elevators work well as does the wifi. So despite its size, I found it a good overnight stay. Now we did stay here two nights and perhaps that was a bit much. The location to the main train station was the big draw for us. A word of caution: there are four Ibis hotels in this location and ours faced the Main Street overlooking the river. This was good but the area is rather sketchy at night.
