ibis Bordeaux Centre Gare Saint Jean

Located close to the Gare Saint Jean, this hotel is a 25 minute walk from the centre of the old town of Bordeaux. There are also convenient tram links close by, but walking distances are not huge in Bordeaux. Spotlessly clean, a perfectly functional place to sleep whilst visiting Bordeaux. There is a small bar in the hotel foyer, but you wouldn't be spending time other than to sleep or eat breakfast in the hotel. Bordeaux has a massive choice of bars and restaurants. Walking into town, explore the back streets rather than walking the direct route. A taxi from/to the airport costs about Euro 55, the only alternative is a bus followed by the walk or a tram from the centre of town.

So convenient. Carrefour is just round the corner.

Disappointed with the location, thought it was close to the river but it was close to a red light district!

I was looking for an hotel close to downtown by foot because i wanted to walk all day long to discover the old parts of the city of Bordeaux during my vacations. I was also looking for a place close to the train station. The Ibis hotel was a very good place for me. The hotel was comfortable and quit at night. I had a good previous experience with Ibis hotel in Toulouse days before. Thank you very much.

I made a booking for the right dates in the wrong month. I completely understand that this was my mistake but because I realized within 2 minutes of booking it I thought that I would be able to sort it out with very little disruption to the hotel. I have in fact made this mistake one time before (never learn) and received an understanding and helpful response from that hotel in question. However the iBis Bordeaux Centre Gare Saint Jean was not at all interested in any form of customer service. The minute they had my money they were not interested. They have multiple hotels worldwide and a 2 in Bordeaux alone but were unwilling to change the date or the hotel or be of any assistance at all. I understand the nature of contracts and legal systems however this was beyond that. I completely disagree with their approach and would not recommend dealing with them for that reason.

Clean and good quality vis price/cleanliness/helpfulness of staff. Would use again.

Just a one night stay en route to wine country. Good location close to train station and tram system. Great breakfast buffet at good price, helpful staff. The rooms are fairly small but value for money.

a bit far out from the main city centre, shower can be improved, overall experience was satisfying.

Tiny room, no refrigerator not even a hand towel. Uncomfortable in small space.
