Hotel Laurus - Liburnia

One night stay during honey moon drive vacation. Long walk to promenade area of coastal town. Shuttle was available to drop of in town. No shuttle after 7PM.Steep hill to return to hotel.

We booked an economy room and on arrival we were informed that we could not use the indoor parking facilities because they are kept for the higher paying patrons. We felt a bit snubbed. The staff were very nice aside from that encounter. The food was good. Complimentary breakfast was good. We stayed for dinner and had a very scenic view from the outdoor patio and thoroughly enjoyed the food.

Excellent hotel. Very clean and great food. The gentleman (I forget his name) who was the receptionist, bartender and waiter provided excellent service and was a wealth of knowledge about the area and his country. He was the only bartender in Croatia who knew how to make a martini (I tried many times). Great stay.

Stayed one night during a visit to Croatia and surrounding countries. We had an ocean view room - the view was wonderful and the room was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was outstanding. Would definitely return.

Family operated with great attention to guests comfort and needs. Professional staff. Spectacular seaside views. Highly recommend.

We liked this place, but it takes a little effort to find it with GPS. The GPS will direct you to a turn point on Nova Cesta. Look for the sign pointing up the steep hill and the hotel is right near the end of that. Small, but adequate room that was comfortable and quiet. The restaurant was good and not too expensive. Breakfast was also well up to typical European standards. View from the outdoor restaurant deck was fabulous. Can definitely recommend this hotel.

This hotel sounded great on the reviews with clean rooms, good parking, comfortable bed and decent breakfast. It fulfilled expectations on two out of four. The parking was in front of the entry and the breakfast on the veranda overlooking the blue Adriatic was better than most. Even Siri had a difficult finding it though, took about 30 minutes. Just ok.

Apart from slight difficulty with our gps not being able to find the hotel, our whole experience was excellent. Friendly staff, high quality rooms, very good breakfast. Car parking was easy, adjacent to hotel. The swimming pool area was well maintained, although we did not have time or the weather to make use of it. Will definitely be back!

This hotel is probably as good as it gets in Opatija which is a pretty bay next door to industrial Rijecka. We stopped here as we wanted to be near the Trieste airport before we flew home from a lovely drive up the Dalmatian coast. The food is simply prepared although the menu has pretensions to grandeur, but the fish, vegetables and local cheese are all very fresh and very delicious. Our room was a bit dreary looking with dark furniture and mauve net curtains but it was clean and comfortable and spacious. The sea view balcony was on the side of the building so a bit disappointing, but the view from the dining terrace was outstanding.
