Kohaku-an Machiya Holiday House

Well thought out. Great location.perfect

Needed a sofa.

Why liked how the house was cosy and had everything we needed.

Nothing really, but I did notice a cockroach once in the living room.

It has two bedrooms, and the location is along bus routes (5 minutes to Tofukuji station). Generally clean and facilities are well equipped.

One of the bedrooms is facing the main road with traffic noise. There is scope to improve the lighting in the stairway as well as the sitting room. I also discovered two tiny cockroaches (one live and one dead) near the bathroom. Not much dining places nearby except some convenience stores.

Everything! It’s a gorgeous Machiya which was lovely & comfortable to stay in.

Only one tiny thing! The clothes airers provided where great, but one was missing 90% of the pegs… which rendered it mostly useless. The ironing board was also broken & had a hole in the middle.

The accomodation was exceptional! We stayed in Japan for two weeks during our holiday and the 'Yoinotake' Machiya was by far the best experience. I would strongly suggest if you are visiting Kyoto to stay here for at least two nights, the amount of space available and features make it great value for money.

We checked in expecting to receive the 'Kohaku' Machiya however at the last minute there was an issue with the Boiler. However, the Office contacted us and provided a free upgrade to the 'Yoinotake' Machiya for the length of our stay. Their hospitality and attentiveness was amazing.

2층집 전체를 빌리는거라 가격은 조금 있을지모르지만 일본에 왔으니 료칸에서 자봐야지 하는 학생층 들이 묵으면 괜찮습니다. 교토 시내에서 안내를 받아야하는 서비스는 조금 빡치지만 잘 자고 왔습니다.
