B&B HOME Brussels East Woluwe

This hotel really exceeded my expectation - I booked the wrong date and the frontdesk was kind enough to let me stay without extra charge, and gave me a super huge room while letting me check in before 2pm. Room is no less than some of the 5 star hotels I've been in. Highly recommend if you come with a car (or it'll take about 40 min to get into the city which is not too bad).

I booked three rooms and had a reservation for three rooms. but was told that one of the party, strangely the 'lead guest' was the one that didn't have a room. he was forced to pay for a @new' booking, which was more expensive and this matter still hasn't been dealt with. Very poor customer service

We chose because the web site listed laundry facilities, and airport shuttle. I called from the airport to find out how to get the airport shuttle and was told they didn't have one. I asked if I could then cancel the booking because we needed the shuttle and was told no. We rented a car and drove there but found only street parking. The person at the desk was impatient and unclear about how to get to the parking lot but stated it could take over 15 more minutes because of closed streets. We parked on the street. Checking in I asked "where are the laundry facilities" and was told they didn't have any! Again I asked to have reservation canceled and they refused. The manager said laundry and shuttle isn't listed on the website - but they both are! The room had poor linens, old saggy twin beds. The halls are dark, gray and narrow. Their dining room looked OK. A second manager came to our room to see if he could resolve our concerns. I suggested he comp us dinner or cancel and refund our stay. He said no and suggested a few places about a $30 taxi ride away and offered us breakfast. It was late enough we just stayed and walked to he nearest dining out of the hotel, a 15 minute walk. We walked just to get out of there! It did feel like a safe area and breakfast was OK. The rude attitude and incorrect information was unacceptable! We travel often and I am pretty easy to please. But this was way below Ramada standards WE WILL Not be going to another Ramada.

The main appeal of this hotel was how close it is to the E40 and to the Ring Road that circles Brussels. It is very easy to get to from the E40, so if you are driving then it is worth considering for that alone. The room I was in was very nice. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was nice. The decor in the room was modern and stylish and there was a lot of space for my belongings. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated directly in front of a bus stop with a bus that takes you into Brussels. I did not use this myself so I cannot say how long the journey takes.

In the area of Brussels with not many other hotels and close to the airport, it is rather convenient for a day or two of business meetings to save the travel time. Staff is mostly nice and helpful. Would not stay there unless pressed, though. Overpriced.

I couldn't get onto WiFi, whatever time of day I tried the message was that it was unavailable and to try again later. There was no in-room tea and coffee making facility, only a machine in the foyer delivering poor quality beverages. The only light snacks available were also from a machine - the bar could not provide sandwiches, only full meals. The breakfast was horrendously expensive. The shower kept changing temperature, first scalding then freezing, then scalding again.

The bad bits: The location of this hotel is next to some very ugly blocks of flats and a motorway. The room we had smelt strongly of cigarettes, the beds were very saggy and the bathroom was dingy especially in the shower which is black tiles, black floor with black shower curtain..! There were also two power cuts during our stay for about 10 minutes each. The room had a kitchen but the microwave didn't have the dish to put things on and there are literally no plates, cutlery, cups, pans etc to make use of it. There are no coffee/tea making facilities in the room. The ok bits: There is a coffee/tea machine in the lobby but you have to ask reception for a token or you pay 1 euro per cup. This is not mentioned anywhere so we ended up paying a couple of times before we saw someone else asking at reception. You have to ask reception to borrow plates, cups etc and then go to the restaurant to get them. This is also not mentioned anywhere. The good bits: There is a supermarket (carrefour) about a 5 minute walk from the hotel (Which sells Belgium beers much cheaper than in town (~1 euro each as opposed to 3-5euro each) and a number of bars and restaurants. A particularly good restaurant was Chez Anesti (Greek) and a particularity bad one next door to it (Mediterranean). There is Free parking outside the front of the hotel. Overall: Its OK if you don't plan to spend any time at the hotel and just use it as a base to drive into Brussels or elsewhere.

Very basic. No tea or coffee in the room or any where to get free tea or coffee. Bar's idea of a cappuccino is black coffee with whipped cream on?! The gym has a few broken machines and no where to get water. There are boxes for used towels but no towels on offer. The bedroom was freezing and the aircon took ages to try and heat up the room. The bathroom has no light near the shower so was like showering in the dark. The breakfast on offer was atrocious for 19 euros. Also the wifi constantly cut out so you had to keep logging in. I would not recommend this hotel or stay here again.

Stayed in a triple room--beds were comfy and rooms were very clean.
