The hotel looked good with attractive grounds. The reception area was grand The staff were very friendly

The new menu was awful and expensive, and nothing about it was Scottish. Great if you like Japanese style food - which we don't. The staff didn't know the dishes. Presentation was poor If we had been able to see the menu, we would have booked somewhere else.

"Sehr stilvolle Unterkunft mit Schwächen"

Der Stil der Unterkunft ist natürlich unübertroffen. Sowohl innen als auch außen sehr stilvoll. Muss man einfach selbst gesehen haben.

Leider ist die Inneneinrichtung doch recht stark abgenutzt, insbesondere die schweren Teppichböden um ganzen Gebäude. Die letzte Reinigung der Fenster von außen dürfte schon einige Jahre her sein

An absolutely beautiful location and we loved the sense of history attached to staying somewhere like the hotel. A property showing its age, but in a most lovely way. Very quiet. A great choice.

"A decent nights sleep but definitely not luxury or high end"

Great location and nice staff

Cottage was dated. Had ants in the kitchen and bathroom and couldn't run a full hot bath. Also we opted in for a breakfast the next morning which was a bit mediocre and I'm unsure why they charged us more than hotel guests. Felt a bit tight and petty
