Friars Carse Country House Hotel

Friendly staff. Pretty location and down-to-earth but nice food.

A beautiful location. We stayed here for a 1 night stop on our way to the Highlands. Staff were so friendly and helpful. The walk around the grounds is stunning; along the river and through a beautiful forest filled with bluebells. The cottage was really peaceful. We’ll definitely be back.

Landhuis op een mooie plek. Prachtig uitzicht op de rivier. Lobby, Lounge en bar gezellig. Kamers netjes en zeer Hondvriendelijk.

Veel achterstallig onderhoud. Het pand verdient een grondige renovatie/ update. Zeer beperkt continentaal ontbijt

The location was perfect for us, facilities were great as was the food.

We loved the gardens & the river the property was very historic which i like lovely place to walk our Dog the staff were friendly and very helpful when needed food was lovely & i liked the fact they had a room for dog owners to eat.

Couldn't fault the Hotel.

It's a beautiful property nestled in the countryside. Big car park. The food was really good. Set course meals. £35 for a 2 course and £40 for 3 course. The white chocolate and rhubarb dessert was probably one of the nicest afters I think I've had.

Our room hadn't been hoovered. Feathers and plastic wrapper on the carpet on arrival. No bottles of drinking water in the room either, I think they expect us to fill the kettle with bathroom tap/bath water. In the restaurant table cloths aren't changed between dinner and breakfast, instead they dust off crumbs. Our breakfast table had crumbs from the diners the night before. That wasn't pleasant, just change the cloths.

This is beautiful grand old building set in magnificent grounds. Unfortunately, the hotel is a little shabby and needs refurbishment.

Breakfast was described as 'good' on booking.com. It was ok as it was only a continental breakfast which did not include sliced meat and cheese. In Scotland, a good breakfast implies a cooked breakfast, but that had a £10 surcharge, so I felt a bit short changed there.
