La Galiniere Guest Cottages

Close to town, big and spacious cottage. Warm and cosy as it was rainy while we stayed over and a view of the pool and vineyards. Wis I had more time to explore!

Nothing comes to mind. Only a blocked pipe basin.

Internal doors to main bedroom can be checked. If closed, opening the 2nd bedroom door created a vacuum & opened the main bedroom door with a bang!!!!

Location was great, nice space, comfortable beds. Loved the doggos.

No basics, a small pint of milk and a bottle of water would have been appreciated.

The property size has a lovely, cozy at home environment about it. As it's not a large estate. So it felt very welcoming, very easy to get around. The cottages are beautiful and completely decked out with everything one needs for their stay. They even provided swimming towels in addition to the usual bathroom towels The main bedroom was absolutely beautiful. It was very well decorated and with lots of cupboard space. Plugs are within reach. There's a dressing mirror and a chair to get ready in comfort. The bed and linen were very comfortable The second bedroom was also well apportioned. Same amenities but with two beds. Besides the fixed mirrors, the guest house had small round mirrors for closer touchups. I loved the attention to detail they gave to a guest's needs. The lounge was warm and cosy. There is a fireplace but we didn't use it. Comfortable, homely sofas and a TV as well as a dining table. There was every piece of cutlery one would need and more. Just outside the cottage is a small table with chairs. We enjoyed eating our lunch there. Then we could also access the pool and relax on the loungers. Big umbrellas are available for shade. The pool is secured by a gate so it's child friendly and it's a beautiful design. Around us was lots of greenery, we enjoyed seeing the little squirrels and the vineyard. The driveway is very short so if you order from Me D etc, it's a very short walk to the gate. And the pebbled walkway made me feel like I was in another country in Europe. The parking bays are spacious and well protected. There are two lovely dogs there who were very friendly and also protective.

Freundlicher Empfang und unkomplizierte Schlüsselübergabe, sowohl bei der Ankunft als auch bei der Abreise. Großzügige Räumlichkeiten mit der Möglichkeit auch außerhalb zu sitzen und den bestehenden Swimmingpool mit zu nutzen. Als Gastgeschenk gab es ein Flasche recht guten Weins aus eigenen Trauben der Farm. Unser Auto konnten wir Problemlos auf einem Schattenparkplatz auf dem abgeschlossenen Grundstück parken.

Die letzte Renovierung des Cottage ist schon eine ganz Weile her. Die Möbel waren ziemlich durchgesessen und bei den Stühlen waren die Beine so lose, dass man guten Gewissens nicht darauf sitzen konnte ohne Gefahr zu laufen, dass sie eventuel ganz zerbrechen. Der Abfluss des Waschbeckens im Bad war nahezu verstopft und lief nur sehr langsam ab. Die Lage des Cottage befindet sich ca. 15 Gehminuten vom Zentrum Franchhoeks entfernt.

Great location. Even though it's close to Franschhoek it is still providing a calm and peaceful stay. The pool is a great feature. The rooms were larger than expected and could easily accommodate the extra bed and cot for our kids. Perfect spot if you're planning on doing the wine tram.

Shower needs a bit of TLC.
