Salad Buri Resort & Spa

No beach, and the road down to the resort is very steep. You must take care if driving a scooter or jeep. Our room happened to have a very loud bird in a cage underneath the window that made it hard to sleep past 6 am. Small issues and overall the resort and staff were excellent.

PROS: most of the rooms have a beautiful view overlooking haad salad. resort as a whole is very nice. the rooms themselves are nice and cozy. in a nice, quiet part of the island. beds were comfy and housekeeping did a great job. CONS: bathroom sink was leaking excessively everywhere and instead of fixing it or giving us a new room i was handed a towel by the front desk (no apology or anything). "free wi-fi" barely worked during the five nights i was there and when it did it was painfully slow (not acceptable for the prices being paid). some of the restaurant staff was brutally overbearing and rude while others seemed to not care at all. also they would just grunt at you and never smile (with the exception of one good waiter!). 3 burnt out light bulbs in room. and THE BIG ONE......rented a scooter off of the company affiliated with the resort and i admit i scratched up the bike a little bit. went to return the bike and was absoutely taken to the cleaners. told me that every little scratch meant they had to charge me for the whole brand new piece at an inflated price no less! since they had my passport there was nothing i could do as i had to leave the island. told me he was giving me a good deal, but it couldnt have been further from the truth! really put a big sore spot on my vacation. if you are going to rent a motorbike DO NOT do it through the hotel, look elsewhere!

We had a private pool villa and the view was amazing. The pool was very chilly because its always in the shade but the villa was great!!

This is a wonderful Resort. The facilities are excellent. A truly fantastic staff. Very helpful and they worked so hard to make our stay fantastic. The rooms are first class, very clean and tidy and most comfortable. The meals here were beyond belief. I had to take photos to show them.

The food was very poor, to the extent that even though breakfast was in included, we went to eat at another restaurant up the beach instead. The seafood barbecue which is in the evening, was expensive in comparison to other resorts and private establishments.

I extended my stay at this hotel, I stayed for 5 days! I originally was at a superior room but found the room to be a little far from beach so upgraded to a delux room closer to the beach and pool area. Their superior rooms are a bit small for two people but certainly good enough and luxurious for single travelers. The staff was accommodating and friendly. The only downside was that wifi didn't work for almost the whole 5 days I was there but they did have computers for guest use in the reception. I would definitely stay here again!

Room without balcony to small barely able to move around the bad. Willing to paid for an upgrade but was deniad inspite free rooms. Management incompetent and unfriendly. Not able to charge meals and other services to room,guests need to have cash on them all the time. As a resort nothing was included, everything was extra. Pool was not cleaned regulary other than leaves, water dirty. On the opther hand personnel was very friendly.

This hotel has great potential, I feel that it is not ran properly as there were a few basic things that let the place down. The location is good if your looking for somewhere secluded, as access is not too easy. 20 minute taxi is the only way in or out. The hotel charges for this,, x amount per head regardless of how many is travelling and whether you are in a proper a/c van or an open top pickup!!!! I feel this should be complimentary or run a trip on the hour maybe. we were not able to put costs on the room,, ie. dinner in the hotel or drinks by the pool. This meands you have to carry cash with you at all times which is completely unacceptable in my view for a resort/hotel of this type. The rooms are really nice,clean and the views are good, most of the grounds are immaculate but the entrace down to the hotel is clearly unfinished which makes first and last impressions poor. The hotel manager is not up to the job in my view, my dealings with him were " annoying" to say the least. This resort is great for relaxing and has a good location right on the beach. The pools are great

Beautiful rooms, beautiful infinity pool, beautiful views and lovely food. Great hotel, our room had great views of the sea and was really pretty. P the receptionist and Su the main waiter spoke great English and were happy to help with anything. It is a really peaceful area. Other reviews suggested it was a building site, however all works must now be complete as there was none when we stayed in October 2010. We were really happy
