"Fine for what we wanted"

6.0

Only in Phangnan for 2 days for full moon party. The hotel was adequate enough for what we wanted. The rooms were much smaller than anticipated and than any other hotel we stayed at during our time in Thailand. Only disappointing thing though, all clean and helpful staff.

"Wonderful"

What can I say - had a wonderful time - staff were great (especially the restaurant staff) - food was lovely, beach and pool both great. I went to relax and do nothing - it was a great place for just that - I will be going again

"Off the beaten path"

8.0

We were very happy with the resort. The stairs are treacherous, but the golf cart was usually available for a free ride to the villa, a comfort for those recovering from total knee replacements! Fresh mango smoothies at the pool are a must try!! Snorkeling was not spectacular, but the sea was warm and clean. Bring your own snorkeling gear, or rent at the Plongee Dive....the hotel has ancient stuff...The beach is quite short, so no long walks....but quite cozy in its own way...the staff was helpful and friendly (if they spoke English, of course!).

"Excellent"

8.0

Excellent quality for the price. Nice room but small. However, there are larger rooms and suits in the hotels that are more expensive. Marvelous bay view from the room. Immediate transportation from room to beach and back if you cannot walk down and up the hill. Beautiful and relaxing bay that was not crowded at all in spite of the high season and fully booked resorts in the area. Much better location than the crowded town areas that are not so appealing for "matured" travelers and families. A 4-star by any American standards. We wish we had booked this location for more nights as its quality and location was much better than we could get in Koh Samui for higher rates!

"lovely hotel in great spot"

10.0

We loved our time at salad buri. We had a villa with its own pool.bliss. we liked the location and thought it the nicest bay we saw. Only negative is that we hired a bike via the hotel (they say it is an outside source but we thought the guy u go through is definetly connected to the operation) and it fell over and got a few very minor scratches and we were forced to pay an outrageous and unfair sum for repairs and this was after heavy bargaining. The road to the hotel is horrendously steep. Rather use the road or track to the left which goes thro the resort next door. The walk to bottle beach is very tough and we thought the bay disappointing(it is quite built up) but maybe because the water was very rough .....anyways wear proper shoes and take water.

"Best Spot in the Island"

10.0

The hotel is located in a quiet bay north from island pier and views are incredible. We had booked a superior room with garden view and were amazed to find that our balcony was facing the sea where we could catch perfect sunset and sunrise. The Hotel is in great condition and the staff was extremely attentive. Room was spacious and very clean perfect for either long stays or a weekend gateway... could not recommend it highly enough!

"Sufficient but not much more"

8.0

The location is quite isolated in the NW part of the island on Haad Salad, which is nice if you want to get away from it from it all but not convenient if you want proximity to more amenities.

"Hidden gem"

8.0

Very good hotel, located on beach front with fantastic views. Be warned of the 100 or so steps up to room if you are located at the top of the mountain as we were. Great pool area and some great looking lake bungalows with private pools. All in all a very good hotel with nice isolated location.

"A disappointing experience"

4.0

A number of things made our overall stay disappointing. 1. When we got off the ferry a man was standing with a sign labelled Salad Buri. Our party of 4 adults and 3 small children, exhausted after a 12 hr journey over air, land and sea, assumed this gesture was complementary. We climbed aboard and arrived at the resort only to be handed a bill of 300baht per couple for the journey. the rates charged were well above what we could have paid had we arranged our own transport. We felt it was opportunistic and lacked transparency. 2. Whilst the staff warmed up over the course of our 5 night stay, initially we did not feel any hospitality at check in or our first dinner that night. The waitress was in fact brusque and almost irritated. These first impressions didn't create a good beginning to our stay. 3. Staff had very limited if any English meaning there was some confusion over menu orders Etc. We also got the feeling there was an oppressive culture in the resort, perhaps from upper Managment as the support staff seemed very subserviant and this made up feel uncomfortable at times. 3. We went during low season and the tide on the beach was low alot of the time. The resort is also at the less attractive end of the beach.

We booked 3 twin bedrooms but got 3 king bedrooms and told us only very few twin bedroom in the hotel and told us my booking is on request. Manner no good at all some staffs.even not provide extra bed for us. So my friends 2 men sleep in one double bed. We never know that the resort is that far.
