"Nice, clean and modern. Would stay here again but probably not likely (see review)."

8.0

I wouldn't stay here again because there is no reason to stay so close to the former Royal Palace in Kyoto; the visit can be accomplished on a half day trip. The rate I paid was high because it was last minute. If I had no place else to go or I wanted to stay all day at the former palace grounds and park, I would stay here again but only if the rates were really good as it's nowhere near where I wanted to be location wise. The hotel is very clean and the room was adequately appointed but nothing excessive or over the top. Window does open a little for fresh air. When you enter the room, you put your room key in a small box in the wall to turn on the electricity for the room. Breakfast buffet is extra. Staff is nice and polite.

"Very Nice Hotel, bit of a walk"

10.0

The hotel itself was very nice, with decent sized rooms. Wish it had been a little closer to a train station. Walk to the subway and bus stops wasn’t too horrible but got a little old after taking the trip so many times. The Imperial palace and corresponding park were very cool and nice right across the street.

"Window to the Palace"

10.0

It was a great hotel. The staff were very polite. It had all the amenities, and the free WIFI was a plus. The location was perfect, as it was a 10-15 minute walk from the nearest metro stop. It was close to the royal palace and gardens.

"Great hotel facing a nice park"

8.0

Good stay, due to a very late booking, we had to change the room but everything went smoothly and well coordinated. Walking distance to the subway stations (2 at least). A bit so-so: The lounge closes a 8pm and not many things around so. The breakfast appears expensive due to the very limited choice.

"Good"

4.0

Tired furnishings and loud slamming doors. The front desk staff were really helpful and the breakfast was nice with a beautiful outlook. The location is good and the parking (a turntable and stacking system) was amazing. A good location near the Imperial Palace gardens. In summary not too bad - but for the price I paid I was surprised that the furnishings were worn and the slamming doors of other rooms (due to the design of the closing mechanism) was truly aggravating.

"Nice hotel near palace"

8.0

This is a good hotel reasonably priced, but my room was very small, but the price was very reasonable so I can't complain. Parking is available which I needed too.

"I came back after 2 years !!"

8.0

I stayed here 2 years ago, and had to come back, especially for the breakfast. The breakfast is a choice between an awesome traditional Japanese breakfast, or alternatively a "western" breakfast. The breakfast tables look out over the garden with its pool and fish: very "spiritual". The rooms are not very spacious, with limited storage space, but the location and breakfast and staff easily make up for this.

"Inconvenient location, but good"

6.0

This hotel's location would probably suit a tour group or conference more than independent travellers. It is located just across the road from the imperial Palace and its gardens, but for any other sight you will need to struggle with public transport. The hotel is four subway stops from the central station, and then about 15 minutes' walk from subway platform to the hotel door. There is about 10 minutes' walk to the nearest convenient bus stop. (Bus 51 does run much closer, but only once every hour.) The hotel itself is fine. Our room was spacious, well designed and clean, with many amenities. The staff were very efficient, if a little less friendly than in other Japanese hotels. The wifi was fine.

"Comfortable hotel in quiet area"

8.0

We booked this hotel as it was one of the few with a reasonable price when we booked late for cherry blossom season. Room was comfortable and we liked being able to try both a Japanese and Western style breakfast (which was included). While the hotel was not in the main part of Kyoto, it was a short train ride to all the places we wanted to visit. It's about a 10-15 min walk to the station depending on your pace, which was fine for us. Though if we could have stayed in a more central area, we would have.

"Very comfortable Hotel"

8.0

Very nice, comfortable hotel, across from the Imperial Palace. Staff were very helpful. We ate at the in house restaurant for dinner and breakfast and found both meals very enjoyable. Rooms were clean. A very pleasant experience
